They will learn how to transform original ideas into polished, wearable pieces while experimenting with different styles, textures, and trends. 8	Animal Anatomy for Artists: mammals	This semester, we will delve into feline, mustelidae, and various rodent anatomy. Our primary focus will be martens, weasles, mice, and housecats! We will break down and simplify the skeletons, musculature, and fur of these species, learning how to draw them from the bones outward.

10	Animal Friends	Animal Friends is an exciting, hands-on class where students connect with real animals in a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. Each week features a special animal guest, giving children the unique opportunity to meet, observe, and spend time up close with a variety of animals

12	ASL: American Sign Language	This beginner-friendly class invites students to explore the basics of American Sign Language through fun, interactive lessons. Participants will learn foundational signs, finger-spelling, simple phrases, and everyday communication skills.
13	Be the Detective of American History	History Hunters tasks students with uncovering hidden secrets and solving challenging puzzles within American history! This isn’t your typical textbook study; it’s a thrilling adventure where you'll work in teams to decipher clues, analyze primary sources, and seek out a fictional treasure.
14	Beginner Guitar	For those with some to no prior experience, students will learn the fundamentals of guitar playing, including proper technique, basic chords, strumming patterns, and popular guitar riffs. We’ll learn classic songs like "Back in Black" by AC/DC, “Eleanor Rigby” by The Beatles, “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” by Green Day and more.
15	Beginner Illustration	A picture is worth a thousand words, it is said! In this class, we will learn how to turn words into pictures. We will learn about scene composition, thumbnail sketching, and tricks to adequately copy, shade, and translate descriptions.
16	Beginning fashion design	Students will learn the basics of fashion design and draping. We will create a mood board with a line of designs the students will create over the semester. 17	Beginning Illustration	This class is for beginners that want to give drawing a try. There are so many styles of illustration to enjoy, and and we will explore many of them in this class! From expressive images of natural elements, to impressive character design, to subtle depictions of daily life, illustration is an incredibly versatile artistic practice.
18	Build Your World: 3D Art Studio	In this imaginative and hands-on class, students design and build their own three-dimensional worlds using materials such as cardboard, clay, and found objects. From tiny environments to creative structures, each project encourages storytelling, planning, and construction. Students lear how to transform ideas into physical forms while exploring concepts such as space, structure and design. Through a variety of projects, they develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and confidence in working with three-dimensional materials. 19	Build-a-Business Workshop	Build a Business Workshop empowers students to think like entrepreneurs as they create and develop their own business ideas from the ground up. Students will identify problems, design innovative solutions, and build a brand around their concept. Throughout the course, students will explore creativity, leadership, and decision-making while working on product design, marketing ideas, and presentation skills. The class culminates in a fun, “pitch-style” presentation where students share their ideas with peers. This engaging, real-world class builds confidence, critical thinking, and innovation while encouraging students to take ownership of their ideas and think big.
20	CAM Sciences - Complementary and Alternative Medicine	This course explores several different types of complementary and alternative medicine from a scientific standpoint, exploring the historical application alongside the latest research. Students will learn how to analyze scientific research on these topics as well as weigh in anecdotal and observational evidences. Historical evidence in long-standing use in ancient or aboriginal cultures will be explored. Students will be expected to do research on their own through reliable databases like PubMed and will learn the differences between different types of studies, as well as recognize bias.
21	Choir	Students will experience the power of singing in a collaborative choral setting while developing strong vocal technique and musical independence. We will focus on tone production, breath support, pitch accuracy, vowel shaping, blend, and harmony as we work through engaging repertoire such as “You Will Be Found” from Dear Evan Hansen, “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King, and other contemporary and classic selections. Students will strengthen their musicianship through vocal warm-ups, sight-reading, and ensemble singing, while building confidence and expressive performance skills. Emphasis is placed on healthy vocal habits, musical literacy, and teamwork within the ensemble. The class will culminate in a short choir concert. All sheet music will be provided.
22	Colonial and Native Americans	This class explores the interactions between European settlers and Indigenous peoples in North America from the late 15th century to the early 19th century. The course covers topics such as colonization, cultural exchanges, conflicts, treaties, and the impact of European diseases on Native populations, highlighting the complex relationships and significant events that shaped early American history.

33	Cupcake Decorating	An introduction to all things cake! Students will learn how to frost cupcakes and use popular cake decorating ingredients including fondant, gumpaste, and buttercream. We will practice techniques used to create decorations with these materials.
34	Dance for Musical Theater	Dance for Musical Theater is an energetic class that introduces students to the fundamentals of dance as seen on the Broadway stage. Students learn basic techniques in jazz, ballet, and theatrical movement while exploring choreography inspired by popular musicals. Through warm-ups, across-the-floor exercises, and performance pieces, dancers build coordination, confidence, and stage presence in a fun and supportive environment. This class will culminate to a performance at the end of the semester.
35	Digital art through Krita	In this introdutory class, you will learn Krita, a powerful, professional-grade drawing tool, one that can aid any artist tremendously. If you're interested in delving into digital art, this class is the perfect segue from traditional mediums. We will be studying Krita's shortcuts, limits, structure, and potential, while also learning how to use a WACOM INTUOS drawing tablet.
36	Digital Art through Procreate	Digital art through Procreate! Procreate is a professional-grade artist's tool and friend, one that can be extremely powerdul when correctly utilized. This beginner's class will push budding artists and their drawing apps into new territory, teaching them how to harness their creativity, and to not be afraid of trying new things. We will study Procreate's limits, structure, exports, shortcuts, tools, and so much more.
37	Drawing Dragons: An artist's guide to drawing fantastical reptiles	Wyverns, Wyrms, and Hydras, oh my! In this class, every week will bring a fresh study of a dragon variant. We will dissect and discuss the differences between true dragons, lindwurms, amphitheres, wyverns, drakes and any other scaly creatures that make appearances in fantasy settings. We will break down the simple shapes of these great beasts, learning how to put them together like a puzzle. By the end of this class, your student will be an artistic expert in all things draconic.
38	Drums	Perfect for aspiring drummers, students will learn the basics of rhythm, notation, and technique from a professional drummer. We'll work on both snare drums, doing drumline material, and bucket drums, learning various rock beats. We will tackle songs like "Yellow" by Coldplay, "Believer" by Imagine Dragons, and others. We'll also dive into a comprehensive method book for a practical look at drum notation. This class emphasizes coordination, listening, and timing, all within a fun and collaborative environment. Bring home your rubber drum pad to get in your noise-free practicing. This class will culminate with a short concert. Students will need to purchase their own drum pad. All other instruments will be provided.
39	Electric Guitar	For those with little to no prior experience, students will learn the fundamentals of electric guitar playing, including proper technique, basic chords, power chords, picking patterns, and essential riffs. We’ll learn iconic songs like “Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple, “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes, “Sunshine of Your Love” by Cream, and more. As students build confidence, they’ll have opportunities to play together in small groups, develop timing and listening skills, and explore a variety of rock and pop styles. Students will work through Hal Leonard’s Electric Guitar Method Book along with additional supplemental repertoire. This class will culminate in a short concert. Students must provide their own electric guitar and amplifier.

42	Ev3 Lego Robotics	The EV3 Mindstorms Robotics class introduces students to the fundamentals of robotics through hands-on building and programming activities. Students work with LEGO EV3 components to design, construct, and code functional robots while learning core concepts in engineering, problem-solving, and computational thinking.
43	Fantasy Worldbuilding	Every fantasy story needs a world built for it... but worldbuilding can look extremely intimidating when you first begin! This class tackles, language creation, map cartography, species invention, timeline planning, and so much more. Together, we will disperse the dark shroud of mystery around the concept of "worldbuilding" one fun lesson at a time.
44	Fantasy Writing	If you have a story brewing in your mind and have yet to pour it onto paper, this is the class for you! Writing your story can feel so intimidating when you first begin, and this class will banish those fears permanently. We will study story flow, character creation, descriptive writing, five senses immersion, and a dash of grammar. By the end of this class, you will have obtained every tool you need to write a beautiful story that is all your own.
45	Fix-it Grammar - Wizard of Oz	Using repetition for mastery, grammar is taught in natural context, which leaves ample room for fantastic dialogue on grammar rules and nuances. Each week students will parse, correct grammar, define vocabulary, and rewrite sentences correctly. This level utilizes the classic tale of The Wizard of Oz to add adventure and familiarity to the passages.
46	Focus on Fine Motor Skills	Designed to help children develop critical muscle movements through fun, engaging activities such as drawing, cutting, building with blocks, and using playdough. Children will strengthen their hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and control. The class focuses on promoting independence and boosting confidence in everyday activities, all while fostering creativity and problem-solving skills in a supportive, interactive environment.
47	Foundations of America: Colonial Life	Travel back to colonial America! Students will explore how people lived, worked, and learned in the 13 colonies while also meeting key historical figures and learning how early governments were created. Through hands-on projects and interactive lessons, students will see how colonial life helped shape the United States we know today.

50	Greek and Latin Roots	Greek and Latin Roots is an engaging class that helps students unlock the meaning of words by exploring the building blocks of language. Each herb, fungi, tree and flower has unique characteristics and gifts we can learn. 56	High School Biology	Pre-requisite: Successful completion of Physical Science. This class will run 14 weeks each semester. Students will benefit from having a remedial microscope at home but it is not required. Specimens will be observed under the microscope semester 1 and dissections will take place semester 2. 58	High School Geometry	This is a high school Geometry class designed to align with rigorous California charter standards and follows the PCA guidelines for the unit requirements and assignments. It will run 14 weeks per semester and is designed to enable a student to complete their high school geometry program with in-class instruction, and at-home assignments, video helpers and access to notes. At home assignments and study are required to achieve a complete high school standard.

72	IEW - Greek & Roman Myths	This is an IEW writing class utilizing source texts about Greek and Roman Mythology. Students will begin with one paragraph writing assignments weekly and as the weeks pass, write two, then three paragraphs, culminating in a couple 5 paragraph essays at the end of the semester. We utilize all IEW dress-ups, openers, and decorative devices.

Students will learn and utilize dress-ups, openers, and decorations, as well as learn how to properly format a proper essay.

This will be a choice-based art studio class where students choose from a selection of art stations, allowing them to explore materials, make creative decisions, and build independence while learning basic art skills, safe tool use, and clean-up routines in a calm, supportive setting.

77	Intro to Ballet Folklorico	This class introduces students to the world of Ballet Folklorico, a traditional mexican dance style that celebrates the culture, history, and regional diversity of Mexico. Students will learn dances from the different regions of Mexico, alongside the histories of the country and its dances. No previous dance experience required!
78	Intro to Building and Construction Methods	Intro to Building and Construction Methods is a hands-on class that introduces students to the fundamentals of how structures are designed and built. Students explore basic construction techniques, materials, and tools while learning about stability, measurement, and safety. Through creative building projects and problem-solving challenges, they gain an understanding of real-world construction processes and develop teamwork and critical thinking skills.
79	Intro to Chemistry with Fun Experiments	Intro to Chemistry for Kids introduces students to the exciting world of matter, atoms, and molecules through hands-on experiments, interactive visuals, and everyday examples like cooking and ice melting. Students explore chemical reactions, the periodic table, and physical/chemical changes in a fun, non-intimidating way.
80	Intro to Kodu Game Lab	Learning game design in Kodu game lab. Students will learn how to code with When->Do Statements along with many of the core fundamentals of game design.
81	Intro to Stage Tech	Students will learn all the backstage skills that come with working a play or musical. They will explore various career options and learn skills and responsibilities needed for them, hopefully leading to their participation as stage crew in Rock Creek's musical.
82	Intro to Warhammer	In Intro To Warhammer students will improve their engineering, arts, and math skills through a series of model-building, painting, and gaming activities based around the table-top game, Warhammer.
83	Journaling/Scrapbooking	Kids will learn how to turn everyday moments into mini works of art through journaling and scrapbooking. With guided prompts and plenty of crafting materials, children will explore their imagination while practicing writing, storytelling, and design.
84	Jr. Musical Theatre Songs & Dances	This class will be an introduction to musical theater. Incorporationg all aspects of it, with a focus on dance and vocals.The class will culminate in an end of semester performance at showcase.
85	Kids Self Defense Skills: Power Moves Training	Build confidence, awareness, and real-life safety skills in Kids Self Defense Skills. This class teaches students how to stay safe through smart decision-making, situational awareness, and effective self‑defense techniques.Through step-by-step instruction, controlled practice, and age‑appropriate drills, students learn how to block, escape holds, maintain balance, and respond calmly under pressure. Emphasis is placed on safety, respect, and using skills responsibly.
86	Kodu Game Lab Challenge	This course is sequal course to Intro To Kodu Game Lab. Students will expand on their knowlege of the program by solving different challanges. It is highly reccomended that students have prior experiance in Kodu Game Lab.
87	Latin I	Utilizing the First Form Latin - Latin Grammer, textbook and workbook, First Form’s grammar-first approach focuses on grammar forms and vocabulary. All beginners—regardless of age—are in the grammar stage of learning. Syntax (how to use the grammar) and translation are logic and rhetoric stage skills, respectively, and quickly overwhelm the student unless introduced at a slow, gentle pace and taught for mastery. First Form is the ideal text for all beginners but strong English grammar understanding ensures success.
88	Lego STEAM Projects	This hands-on course introduces students to the exciting world of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) through creative, project-based learning with LEGO. Students will explore real-world engineering challenges by designing, building, and testing innovative solutions using lego and lego technology products
89	Line Dancing and the History Behind It	A series of historical lessons about the origins and inventors of certain line dances. We will have a brief lesson about the invention, origin, and music that matches the line dance, then learn the steps of the dances. Each dance and history lesson will take 2 weeks.
90	Little Artist: Elements of art	In this fun and engaging class, young artists will explore the seven elements of art—line, shape, color, value, form, space, and texture—through hands-on projects and creative play. Students will learn beginner art techniques, strengthen fine motor skills, and build confidence in their creativity. 91	Little Homesteaders	Little Homesteaders is a hands-on, creative class where young learners explore traditional skills through fun, age-appropriate activities. Students will discover the joy of making things from scratch while learning about simple, natural ways to create and care for everyday items.In this class, children will try their hand at crafts, basic food preparation, bread baking, and making simple natural products like soaps and other handmade goods. Each project is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and encourage creativity while introducing practical life skills.
