22 | Founded in 2012, the Institute for Cultural Relations Policy (ICRP) is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation fostering scientific education and public discourse regarding cultural relations policy. The institution is officially run by Kulturalis Kapcsolatokert Alapitvany, based in Budapest, Hungary. The ICRP focuses on global intercultural dialogue, the promotion and protection of International Human Rights, the recognition of cultural diversity and religious and minority issues. Moreover, the ICRP puts a great emphasis on the professional development of young generations by conducting an internationally known and popular Internship Programme and regularly organising different trainings and workshops. The foundation has offices in Austria, Finland, France, Georgia, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine, Pakistan and Mali with similar structure, aims and objectives as the ICRP Budapest has. The ICRP is one of the founding member organisations of the International Alliance for Cultural Relations The aim of this global network of organisations active in the field of cultural relations is to present, research and apply cultural relations as a peaceful instrument of international relations by developing coordinated strategies. | |
23 | What are the activities and experience of the partner organisation in youth work? Please provide information on your organisation’s / group’s regular youth work activities at local level. | |
24 | The ICRP has vast experience in combining local actions and international projects, thus making global ideas and good practices into local actions. The institute has been actively participating in the Erasmus+ programme (before 2014 in the Youth in Action programme) both as partner organisation and applicant. Since 2014, we have been involved in nearly 200 projects as partner organisation (mostly in KA1 youth exchanges, trainings and contact-making seminars and KA2 actions) and many of our own applications have been supported. The topics of those covered intercultural learning, development of youth workers’ competences, stereotypes, peace-building, project development, active participation, volunteerism, conflict resolution, among others. The project implemented were targeting youth workers working with specific groups such as the NEET, youth living in conflict areas, and young people with fewer opportunities, among others. The organisation successfully implemented multi-action training courses to strengthen the capacities of (youth) organisations in supporting young people in various fields. Since 2017 the ICRP takes part in KA2 projects focusing on supporting democratic values in Europe, active citizenship, enhancing entrepreneurial and digital skills of youth workers, improving professional development of teachers and youth workers in inclusion, human rights and increasing competences for youth policy development and advocacy for peace. Many of these international projects made it available to organise local events in Budapest, Fonyod, Dombovar, and in small settlements involving minority groups in the Southern and Central Hungary regions. Between 2020-2023 the institute facilitated several training courses and info-days providing information on project development and youth participation. These events targeted young people and minority groups with a special focus on Roma communities. In 2022 the institute started its IDEACTION Programme which serves as an incubator in order to help young people with great ideas not only to launch a regular or online project but actually to achieve a social impact starting from the local level. Our local activities also covers organising workshops and talk series (Diplomacy & Beyond), international conferences, a webinar series on rapid societal changes in 2020 and other international events. The institute organises an annual international conference in Budapest (Security and Sovereignty in the 21st century) in cooperation with the Kodolanyi Janos University, allowing local students to participate and present their research on various topics related to the conference’s scope. The ICRP publishes regularly its monthly magazine titled “Cultural Relations Policy News & Background” and its quarterly review on International Relations, Political Science and Economics. In addition, the “ICRP’s Human Rights Issues Series” is dedicated to international human rights protection and conflict resolution. The ICRP also publishes research and learning materials about cultural and international relations. All publications including webinars are available on the institute’s website. | |

26 | The Foundation has a five-member core team along with an international advisory board, consisting of 25 people having mainly diplomatic and political backgrounds. The institute also accommodates 15-20 full-time graduate volunteers at the same time and – due to its internship programme – several interns who are committed to help the organisation conduct its activities. The staff’s educational background is various: it includes political scientists, international relations experts, economists, lawyers and journalists. The multicultural background of the team – most of the interns are come from abroad – is considered a huge advantage of the institute. András Lőrincz, Founder, Chief Operating Officer: - Degree: Political Science (MA) and International Relations (BA) in Hungary. Currently: Political Science PhD in Budapest. Research area: new tendencies in international relations, identity policies and political thought. Guest lecturer at ELTE and Kodolanyi Janos Universities in Budapest. Research area: Spanish politics and party system, separatist movements. Organiser of international conferences and author of numerous research papers and articles. Responsible for the coordination of the ICRP’s Erasmus+ project portfolio as well as for communication with partners and stakeholders. Kristina Lazebna, Project manager: - Degree: Law (BA and MA in Ukraine and Hungary). Languages: Russian, Ukrainian, English proficiency and elementary Hungarian. Professional experience: legal assistant, organiser of youth projects and international conferences, project management and communication. Author of numerous articles and research papers on international relations topics and international law cases. Key responsibility areas: international cooperation, networking and event management. Tekla Gabrichidze, Project manager: - Degree: International Relations (BA and MA in Georgia and Hungary). Languages: advanced Russian and English and elementary Hungarian. Professional experience: former volunteer in Italy, worked formerly at Tbilisi city Assembly in the Investment Policy and International Relations Committee, former assistant of the deputy minister at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia. Public administration, training systems, volunteer sending, project management and communication. Key responsibility areas: international cooperation, educational partnerships. Pál Recska - Member of the Board of Trustees, Financial Manager: Education: MA in Economics. Languages: Russian, German. Position at the ICRP: Financial Manager.
