What were the 3 biggest assumptions that you made about your customers' pains when making your mocktail?
How did you test them? describe 3 different ways that you tested EACH customer pain?
What data would hep you validate or falsify each assumption for each customer pain? How could you find that data?

What 3 key take-aways have you learn about how your team's egos and decisions in this exercise have blocked your success to discover and learn about your customers ?
In what ways can your learning be transferred to your project to make sure that you know your assumptions about your customer and test whether they are valid or false, to know and better discover what your customer actually wants to buy from your team (hint: it is definitely not your idea or your solution- so drop that)?

Asking around and survey online
We didn’t have so much time to test and only focus on the time
Always test and go to the real world and see how they will really react to it and would they even see theirselves as targets as a whole.
5
The biggest assumption was that they're drinking to relieve stress
We did not test
Asking people to taste the drink
That they were drinking to make their day better
We did not test them
Having people taste the drink would have helped
The customer's job was something we had trouble finding out
We did not test them
Again, the testing would have helped
1. We did not ask questions but we should have
2. We need to focus more on the customers
The concept of testing is definitely something that can be applied to the project that we have going on as we have not be as customer oriented as we would like to be
6
Loneliness, pity, health problem
We did not test it...
Ask people, research online, collect surveys
Fun, Instagram friendly, Eco-friendly
Instagram, no plasticAsk people, research
Go to the mocktail bar in the weekends, drink, try, buy
we did not test...
Ask people, research online, surveys
We have learned that we need to put our own thoughts acide and actually ask the customer who will consume the product. focus more on what the consumer wants - research more and not make assumptions without any research.
We should get into the real world - ask people, who are they? are our targeting correct?
7

Too expensive, not good quality or too far away
We did not have enough time
Menús from restaurants, customer reviews from the past and access to addresses.
All this data could be find in Google
That the drink is to clear their mind or spend some quality time with friends or family.
We did not test them.
Surveys on to what people like to drink and on what time of the day. Also maybe location. Found on Google
That they would be searching for the product on Google. For restaurants and reviews.
We did not test these.N/A
We have to focus on the client first.
Really develop on what we want to transmit and why.
We must better research and then TEST before trying anything. We need backup that re assures what we think and this way we can better propose a product/marketing campaign
10
Cost of money, not good quality, long time to make
I didn't test .
Refreshing, innovative and chilling
Tried out the drink my self, used refreshing products, set in a chilling location

We couldn’t test them actually we didn’t have time
Same as the one before
Go to bars, rooftops, street degustations
Same as beforeSame as before
We were thinking we knew who we were targeting but in fact it’s more complex,
We didn’t have time to test our conjectures,
We will think not as loosers but more like why not, put our selfs as a client
12
Too expensive, not good quality, place is too far
We did not have enough time to test them
Survey in social media

We asumed we knew the customer,
We didnt test any of the customers pains.
Consumer data using mintel or statista would help to gather market research in this sector.
We assumed we knew the market, the customer and whzt the customer wanted.
Questionnaire after they consumed the drink to see how they felt. Hold a mocktail social and see who attends.
Data on demographics that drink the most mocktails. Data on where the mocktails are drank. Consumer data on why mocktails are drank over cocktails.
Assumed we knew what they did, where they went and why they didnwhat they did.
Questionnaire to ask the consumer. Street mocktail making stand to see where people consumed most, at the beach vs business districts. Also the same test but relating to the time.
Data around the types of places/when people consumed mocktails would be helpful. Speaking to bars/clubs as well as primary data gathering would help.
Sometimes we follow blindly. We trust each others decisions. We dont ask why enough.
More data and research should be gathered/conducted before we act. Validate assumptions so we have data confirming what we "think we know"

Permit to talk with our team to know what we do, do a kind of "advert" and know better our customers
Take a sample of people to know what they like and for example do a testing of mocktail
21
1.Not drinking alcohol while out and not having enough non-alcoholic options create discomfort. 2.The customer is missing a mocktail that is as beautiful and tasty as a cocktail. 3.Choosing a non alcoholic drink have a negative imact on (or on the clients experience of) their social life).
1.ask in surveys or ratings if alcoholic drinks enhances experience and social life out.

2.ask in surveys about opinion of non-alcoholic options.

3. Ask ratings of social quality in contexts with alcohol vs without.
Interviews, surveys, ratings, questionnaires.
The mocktail would provide: 1.Excellent flavour 2.Increased social inclusion for non-alcoholic drinkers in groups of friends who do drink alcohol. 3.Higher stimulation/pleasure while being in a club/bar than it would have been if you had a soda/water instead.
1.Asked about negative and positive feedback of the mocktail in an anonomous survey.

2.Survey about quality of social life before and after having the mocktail in social context that include alcohol.

3.Questionnare with rating of experience in a club/bar during 1 visit with the mocktail and another without.
Questionnares, ratings, surveys about: Whether or not people would prefare a mocktail over a cocktail if the non-alcoholic option was tasty and beautiful, the non-alcoholic drinkers experience in contexts with alcohol, whether or not having a mocktail instead of another non-alcoholic beverage affect quality of social life for the drinker.
1.They desire social inclusion in groups with alcoholic drinkers. 2.They want to drink a beautiful drink that looks like a cocktail but without alcohol. 3.They want to experience satisfaction while drinking the mocktail and while looking at it.
1.Measure by ratings and survey if non-alcoholic drinkers feel it affects their social life. Also, in what way. Others peoples reaction or their own confidence for example.

2.If they think that having a ”fake” alcoholic drink could help to improve their experience or confidence while out.

3Measure by ratings how much the look of the drink and the taste of it matters when the drink is ordered. Rate preferences for effect of each drink.
Ratings/surveys/questionnaires. All anonomous to avoid biased answers.
1.Focusing only on your Idea/product is risky bcs you forget to investigate how other people perceive your idea.
2. The final outcome is more important than having your voice heard.
3. The clients opinion about the solution you offer is note important than your own.
We need to focus on the customers perception of the problem and solution we offer mainly. Less on our own exitment about our project Idea. We need to know a lot about the needs, desires and life of the customer. The more we know about their way of thinking is better.
22
They don t have people to go with to drink or are shy to go alone. They want to have beautiful pictures in Instagram (social life, self image) so design is important. They take care about their health, so no chemicals and only eco products for mocktail ingridients
1. Online Survey
2. Go in the bar and talk to people, offer them a coctaile, see what questions are they gonna ask about it. For example, if they as "Is it with alcohol? Or is there a sugar inside?" It will give an understanding what about people actually care. Also look how many people come alone.
3. Invite a group of people in the bar and look what they actually will order.
Answers from the survey, observation in the bar, talking to people
Relaxation. Communication (social life). Time spending
For test all three gains I would use an online survey and just talk to people.
Answers from the surveys and conversations.
Finding time to go to bar and drink a mocktail. Earning money. Having or finding friends to spent time with.
For test all gains, pains and jobs i would use survey. I think it is good way to get quick answers. Also i would speak with people outside to actually understand them, to see how they look, may be they will feel more opened answering than doing it online.
The data collected from the survey, observation and conversations.
We should have talked to other people, giving our mocktail to try, asking about their opinion.
I should keep the conversation casual, ask my question as i have an opportunity, not scheduling for it a meeting, i should listen mostly. I should not ask hypothetical questions as the reality will be different anyway. Not in every situation i have to tell people that it is my idea to get honest answers, but not expose my ego. Also there is two important questions I can use: "Who else should i talk to?" and "Is there anything else i should have asked?".
