22
This spreadsheet uses either .xls or .gnumeric:
23
and is linux tested for gnumeric, libre office(slow to load), -probably a background gamer on my system-, but it's uploadable to google documents for online shares and saving.
24
If saving as .gnumeric and not .xls, you may need the prompt converter called, ssconvert, to .xls it back to a google upload.
25
26
You can try it on .xls elsewhere, windows, etc, but I haven't been there recently to confirm its workings.
27
28
Otherwise, these sheets are for the manual collection of surnames from
29
the free sources of online ancestry and familysearch.org databases.
30
31
Every 20 years or so the fields may need to be updated and re-saved to include newer generations.
32
33
Rows starting at 164 of the 'mother and father' pages, are quick viewable image saves of 9 generations.
34
The main surname list of up to 17 generations, is on the surname page, which also includes ancestral origin percentages, gen. #'s 6-8.
35
The surname page is tiny for printing, but with certain names and place origins you may need to shrink the fonts.
36
37
if you want to expand more generations over 10 static generations, to the 17 generation height.
38
Shrink the view to at least 50-25 % to expand the columns past ~column du,
39
40
1. Highlight a large selection, keeping the deep blue headers of ~m~w~ and space matching,
41
include the column data from a male column ...aprox. co1 to du365, and paste co1 into the dv1 column. it then widens and ends around the fe1 column.
42
Start the expanded selection of the column and row grab, on any range column area ...am to ds.....and then during sheet expansion or widening ... in the code area under the du range header, 214 to 358, select the ranges of columns a thru d ...to indicate the new last cell to collect data from, and replace only there, with fe instead of du.
43
2. Making new individual columns, within the particular great grandparents section, the pink and green sectors to their notepad border,
44
start only anywhere the new columns are needed, (only to to row 149).
45
*example is on the fathers page, bright blue cq37, max. to move numbers are: h12-du35, or h50-du73, or h88-du111, or h126-du149.
46
move the selection to the right, leaving the amount of columns needed for that ancester, adding in thier new colorful boxes.
47
Most of fields automatically collect the surnames,
48
so if you lose a formula, you may need to reference a blank copy of the file, and copy in that specific field.
49
50
As it's a spreadsheet, add colors, bolden and make borders if necessary.
51
52
The ancesty codes are to be listed in the yellow-orange code boxes, [swe], as an example...indicates sweden,
53
the code boxes highlight with thier generation # when needed.
54
Most codes are directly under there appropriate column, except,
55
the main 2 surnames are listed aside to thier column areas, as shown.
56
57
Most examples are included on the father page.
58
59
On another note, the surname populations of europe were not that high~ back at 1400 ad,
60
So, the info chart below is incorrect, around that era.
