Parent expressed concern regarding negativity posted on non-official Elliott Facebook Page. Question was posed as to why action has not been taken to remove negative comments or change settings so there cannot be outside comments made? Writer went on to commend teachers and administration for their hard work and negativity was noted as being "a disgrace"."Elliott Elementary PTO" is the only PTO sponsored Facebook page. We do monitor and control content, as we are able. Any other page is one created, likely with the best intentions, by a parent. We have no ability to delete or censor comments posted on a private page. Going forward, we encourage support and appreciation of our teachers and staff. Any negative feedback or concerns can be addressed via the PPA or with Ms. Guernsey in a more constructive manner.

Suggestions were made regarding PTO meetings. First, a start time right after school was suggested to make it more convenient for parents and teachers. We have informally surveyed some parents who are not in favor of havings meeting right after school, we try to accommodate members by alternating between morning and evening meetings times. If we receive additional feedback about moving the time of meetings, we can consider it.
7
Next, a suggestion was made to arrange childcare for meetings by using High School students who can volunteer their time and use the hours towards their community service credit.Other Munster Elementary Schools have tried this and we are in the process of investigating this as an option.
8
Finally, concern was raised regarding lengthiness of the meetings.Meetings are kept as short as possible. The current board has developed a formatted agenda to keep on task and have worked to keep committee reports concise. Officers would be open to suggestions as to further limit the length of meetings as long as parents, teachers, and staff can be heard and understand that their input is valued.
