Quality ModesetiQuickly switch up a bunch of values to give you better performance, better appearance, or let the smart conditionals load the best valules for your computer hardware1️⃣ = Automatic
⚪️ Throttles the values based on the abilities of your hardware.
# seti S_Quality_Mode 1
3
2️⃣ = Performance
⚪️ Forces values to lowest spec. Pointless if you have a GPU with 1GB of VRAM or less
seti S_Quality_Mode 2
4
3️⃣ = Visual
⚪️ Forces the values to highest spec. Pointless if you have a GPU with 4GB of VRAM or more
seti S_Quality_Mode 3
5
4️⃣ = Xperimental
⚪️ The old performance version. Will enable X_Never_Normal_Mapping, X_Pixelated_Bread_Shop and X_Shell_Shadows from the xperimental settings. Read about these values below for more details.
seti S_Quality_Mode 4
6
Clipping ModesetiQuickly change the way clipping works in the file1️⃣ = Default
⚪️ The default values that come with The Sims 4.
seti S_Clipping_Mode 1
7
2️⃣ = Simps
⚪️ The values from the previous update. Allows you to get much closer to objects before they cut away.
⚪️ Need to edit the VideoCamera.ini for best results! (View the details in the Patreon post)
# seti S_Clipping_Mode 2
8
3️⃣ = Alt
⚪️ Technically broken because of a few downsides (flickering doors/windows in the distance and a broken skybox when at the end of a map). The upside though is it plays nicer with MXAO making the behaviour more predictable. Also if you use Shadows for Days by @pictureamoebae then use this setter.
seti S_Clipping_Mode 3
9
Mip ModesetiQuickly change how the texture swapping works in the file1️⃣ = Default
⚪️ The default values that come with The Sims 4.
seti S_Mip_Mode 1
10
2️⃣ = Simps
⚪️ The values from the previous update. Sets all values to 1 to disable texture swapping
# seti S_Mip_Mode 2
11
3️⃣ = Alt
⚪️ Set all the values to -1 to be used with Alt S_Clipping_Mode
seti S_Mip_Mode 3
12
Object QualitysetiDefines the texture quality of objects, The Sims 4 default used to be 2048 but they reduced it to 1024 a while ago. You can quickly set it back to 2048. Also some CC has higher quality textures which need you to set the texture quality to 4096.1️⃣ = 1024
⚪️ This is the default option and is the default value from The Sims 4
seti S_Object_Quality 1
13
2️⃣ = 2048
⚪️ Go back to the higher quality textures from before it was decreased. Will have a performance toll!
# seti S_Object_Quality 2
14
4️⃣ = 4096
⚪️ For CC that supports this! Default Sims textures will not be affected
seti S_Object_Quality 4
15
Shadow Quality Medium
Shadow Quality High
Shadow Quality Very High
setiAllows you to specify the maximum shadow quality you want to use. The Sims 4 maximum is 2048 but you can increase this all the way up to 5120 in most cases (if your computer can handle it). All options greater than 3072 will conditionally fallback to 3072 if you have an older Mac with a Nvidia Graphics Card.0️⃣ = Off
⚪️ Globally disable shadows at the specified quality level
seti S_Shadow_Quality_Medium 0
16
seti S_Shadow_Quality_High 0
17
seti S_Shadow_Quality_VeryHigh 0
18
1️⃣ = 1024
⚪️ This is the default in the file and The Sims 4 default for Medium Lighting
# seti S_Shadow_Quality_Medium 1
19
seti S_Shadow_Quality_High 1
20
seti S_Shadow_Quality_VeryHigh 1
21

seti S_Shadow_Quality_Medium 4
28
seti S_Shadow_Quality_High 4
29
seti S_Shadow_Quality_VeryHigh 4
30
5️⃣ = 5120
⚪️ The highest possible value. Anything more will break shadows. There is a significant performance toll, without a decent graphics card this is best used for screenshots only
seti S_Shadow_Quality_Medium 5
31
seti S_Shadow_Quality_High 5
32
# seti S_Shadow_Quality_VeryHigh 5
33
Interior Sun LevelsetiEnable interior sun shadows for the specified Lighting Quality setting in game. The Sims 4 default is only enabled for Very High but after several requests it seems fitting to add an option to enable it. This will have a performance impact so use at your own discretion.0️⃣ = Off
⚪️ Globally disable internal sun shadows
seti S_Interior_Sun_Level 0
34
1️⃣ = Low
⚪️ Low Lighting Quality and above (All options)
seti S_Interior_Sun_Level 1

2️⃣ = Medium
⚪️ Medium Lighting Quality and above
seti S_Interior_Sun_Level 2
36
3️⃣ = High
⚪️ High Lighting Quality and above
seti S_Interior_Sun_Level 3
37
4️⃣ = Very High
⚪️ Very High Lighting Quality only
# seti S_Interior_Sun_Level 4
38
Fluid Shadow LevelsetiEnable fluid shadows for the specified Lighting Quality setting in game. The Sims 4 default is enabled for Low and Medium. Makes shadows move fluidly as time passes (no step every 10 seconds or so). A few drawbacks include no interior sun shadows, shadows cut off much sooner and shadows appear faded(lighter). Enabling will have a performance boost!
0️⃣ = Off
⚪️ Globally disable fluid shadows
seti S_Fluid_Shadow_Level 0
39
1️⃣ = Low
⚪️ Low Lighting Quality only
seti S_Fluid_Shadow_Level 1

Ambient OcclusionsetbAmbient Occlusion is the small shadows that you see in the corner of rooms, around doors and window frames, around cabinets and counters and so on. It’s a nice bit of depth but it’s buggy at the best of times.true = Enabled
⚠️ Enabling Ambient Occlusion will have a significant performance toll
setb S_Ambient_Occlusion true
44
false = Disabled
⚠️ Disabling Ambient Occlusion will also disable Distance Blur (nothing I can control)
# setb S_Ambient_Occlusion false
45
Distance Blur (DoF)setbDistance Blur is the out of focus effect in the background, also referred to as DoF (Depth of Field). It requires S_Ambient_Occlusion to be enabled as well!true = Enabled
⚠️ Enabling Distance Blur requires you to enable S_Ambient_Occlusion as well!
setb S_Distance_Blur true
46
false = Disabled
⚠️ Disabling Distance Blur will NOT disable Ambient Occlusion
# setb S_Distance_Blur false
47
Shadow DecalsetbShadow Decal is the shadows seen under small bushes and plants. Using the Alt option for S_Clipping_Mode will force this setting off to fix an issue. Disabled by default for a smal performance boost but if you want a bit of extra depth to the landscape then enable thistrue = Enabled
⚪️ If using Alt Clipping Mode this will automatically be disabled to fix a bug
setb S_Shadow_Decal true
48
false = Disabled
⚪️ If you notice bushes succumbing to shadows when zooming out then disabling this will help!
# setb S_Shadow_Decal false
49
Anisotropic FilteringsetbControls the way textures are applied to objects with slanting angles, for more detailed information Google "anisotropic filtering". Only affects the High Object Quality setting.true = Enabled
⚪️ If using Visual Quality Mode then this will be enabled automatically
# setb S_Anisotropic true
50
false = Disabled
⚪️ This is the default to give a performance boost
setb S_Anisotropic false
51
Trilinear FilteringsetbControls the way mipmaps blend together, for more detailed information Google "trilinear filtering". Only affects the High Object Quality setting.true = Enabled

Frame Rate Limit (FPS)setiDefine a frame rate limit of your choice. You need to edit the Options.ini file for this to work! (Details in the Patreon post)⭐️ enter any number (preferably between 30 and 120) the default is 60seti S_Frame_Rate_Limit 60
60
Frame Rate Recording AdjustsetbEnable to adjust S_Frame_Rate_Limit value by +10%. Done to allow overhead for recording software like OBS. If you are recording/streaming then set S_Frame_Rate_Limit to the same FPS that you record/stream attrue = Enabled
⚪️ Will adjust S_Frame_Rate_Limit by +10% (eg. 60 * 1.1 = 66)
setb S_Frame_Rate_Recording true
61
false = Disabled
⚪️ This is the default and will use the value provided for S_Frame_Rate_Limit as is
# setb S_Frame_Rate_Recording false
