March 5, 2024Sophea Chum33Watched Video 33 and teacher Sophea described the video in great detail, very accurately and great use of language. March 14, 2024Sophea Chum33, 34Teacher Sophea presented her homework using the words perfectly. She used excellent words and phrases to describe the video, some of it very similar to the suggestion text. We were able to improve the flow of her descriptions by changing a word here and there such as past tense words or eliminating unnecessary words. She was also advanced enough to teach her onomatopoia because the word Thud had been used. She was able to understand this fully and present other examples in Khmer and in English. 10

Mar 24, 2024Sophea Chum35Today we went over the homework and all of her sentances were perfect and did not need correction. We watched the video and she described it very similar to how it is suggested with a few differences in choices of words and was able to correct herself as we typed. We taught her the word catalyst as it was related to the word prompt.10

Apr 2, 2024Sophea Chum36Today was a great lesson and Teacher Sophea is very proficient in her English skills. Only minor corrections were needed at times and she is often able to correct them herself as she thinks about it. We went over words from the video description that she wasn't familiar with like sway, delicate, and the term "to take a toll" and discussed and contextualized those ideas. This was the last video so we will need to pick another video for the next lesson. 10

4/4/24Sophea Chum31Today was a great lesson, we noticed Teacher Sophea was able to keep her sentences concise and in the correct tense and displayed good understanding of when to end the word with an 's' or not. When she made the rare mistake in regards to this she was able to correct herself without being told. She also used one of the vocabulary words in the beginning casually to describe the weather before we began the lesson, which was exciting because she was able to utilize it naturally in conversation. 10

4/22/24Sophea Chum31Today's lesson went very well, we continued the second half of the video as it was a longer one. She did very well in describing the actions and the results of those actions. Since our last class is next week and we have done all the videos, we have asked her to pick out anything from the bible or elsewhere that she is curious about or wants to discuss meaning, pronunciation, context, etc. 10

4/29/24Sophea ChumToday we finished the term. We went over her homework and she'd done a great job using the words to create sentences. We then chose to read and discuss Psalm 16, paying attention to any words that stand out. Then we went over pronuntiation and broke down the meaning of the text itself. Words such as: realm, libations, lot, decay, etc. She seemed to really enjoy this and clearly understand. 10
