This spreadsheet shows the source information for the Cashogram, a UK per capita budget. Government and personal spending, along with a few other interesting things, are split down into pounds per person per year, rendering incomprehensible billions a little more intelligible, and allowing somewhat meaningful comparisons to be made about what costs what.

The source data here are reproduced so you can check that we aren't just making this stuff up—and if we've made any mistakes. Please do let us know if you spot anything! Our methodology is rough and ready: the intention behind the Cashogram was not to be 'correct' in any grandiose sense, but to give ourselves and others an idea of how big things are in relation to one-another. We've tried to get 2010–2011 data where possible, but it hasn't always been. Some of the numbers are just round-numbered guesses. So sue us. Actually, don't, because a lengthy lawsuit would likely dwarf most of the bars on the Cashogram…
