Introduction to the Fundamental DT Skills (2020 document)
2
> Hi everyone, I'm Tony. I'm a player who's all about improving in the most efficient ways and my favourite skillset is everything involved with speed and DT. (peak #6,966) in ~560 hours accumulated in 2 years of playtime, started in 2018

4
> Welcome to the spreadsheet that'll hopefully guide you through the fundamental DT skills. Here is a selection of beatmaps that I (as a DT main) have played that allowed me to get to my current skill level. Many suggestions from other players have been placed into the spreadsheet too
5
> Obviously these won't 100% match up what the pros have done but these kind of beatmaps develop skills that I think would be very useful
6
> These map selections strike a balance between pp and improvement, you are only rewarded pp if you get good accuracy out of it and is probably one of the most efficient ways of improving whilst also gaining rank if you like that sort of thing
7
> I must iterate that everything posted here (apart from Endgame) allow you to train or polish the fundamental DT skills, i.e. getting used to higher OD, AR, BPM and stamina requirements than nomod - this isn't a guide for exploring harder aspects in DT, only the fundamentals
8
> What I've noticed here in 2020 is that people are playing or even rushing to the more disgusting, non beneficial jump DT maps like Cookie-Butter-Choco-Cookie, Will Stetson's Harumachi Clover and more jump spam garbage
9
> If you're an experienced player, the maps in this guide could be called farm maps, but now they are really crucial for current players in 2020 to understand the basic osu principles with regards to the DT mod - even as simple as mastering bursts or prolonged bursts
10
11
> This database will be updated from time to time so keep an eye out for any updates in the Updates Sheet (UK Format i.e. DD/MM/YY)
12
> As always I will never expect anyone to improve overnight, it will take weeks, months and maybe even years to master the basic DT principles.
13
> Do not even bother attempting the difficulties like Medium, Hard or higher if you're one of those 'jump players' so to say, with terrible accuracy and inability to stream or burst - these stages are not for you, go back to the basics before attempting this
14
> You will make the MOST out of this DT guide by moving in with GOOD accuracy and having mastered the osu fundamentals - you will not gain anything by getting bad accuracy (like 93 or less) on these maps and never going back to improve it
15
16
> You'll notice that there are 5 difficulty-based sheets at the bottom of the page,
17
> You should only progress from the sheets after you have gotten around a 98% FC on all of the maps of the previous sheet (e.g. do not bother aiming for scores on Hard if you haven't FC'd Medium maps with around 98% accuracy).
18
> The reason I have ordered them like this is because it's a matter of progression, once you've mastered everything you need to learn from Medium, then you can progress onto Hard because they require the skills from Medium - you can't go to Hard from Easy because you haven't even mastered Medium
19
> Maybe some of the maps don't belong in the correct category 100% but I've tried my hardest to try and organise them - do let me know if you think some beatmaps don't belong in their given sheet
20
> You can order the beatmaps by star rating, BPM or Length by right clicking on the letter of the respective column (e.g. B for Star Rating), and sorting by A to Z (works for numbers) as shown in the screenshot below.
21
> Date Added is another header if you want to check on any maps that've been recently added.
