It's estimated around a quarter of Aussies cannot save a $2,000 emergency fund (I call this a "Go Bag").

The future value I calculated uses the FV() formula in Google Sheets. I multiplied the monthly income x 10% x 12 because I assumed you were using monthly figures in the spreadsheet (i.e. this would roughly annualise it). The final figure could be wrong as some people don't get paid monthly and some months are different to others (e.g. months with fewer working days). Pay attention to the other assumptions. While we try our best, the future is uncertain and your savings and investment returns will vary. So consider getting professional advice before making any changes to your finances. Consider getting professional financial advice. This is very broad assumption only. It is not a forecast or guarantee of results.
33
Important note: returns are inputted without considering taxes, fees/costs and inflation, but these are real things. So consider baking these into your forecasts (e.g. if you assume a 7% investment return, remember that inflation + costs + taxes might be 3% of that amount).
