When filing quarterly unemployment wage reports on Colorado website and using the previous quarter report for names and ssn; how are those names arranged? It appears to be random. Is there a way to organize the names alphabetically? Wage records copied from the previous quarter are sorted numerically by SSN. At this time, data cannot be sorted alphabetically. The Division is exploring options to expand data sorting functionality in a future release.

Is there a way to give us more time to answer claims? 48 hours is not enough time. Are we punished as an organization if we are not able to answer the responses, and if we know we will not win UI claim what is the point?By law, employers have seven (7) days to respond to the Division’s initial request (RECES 7.4.2). If the Division does not receive a response after the initial time frame, subsequent requests will be made via email and phone calls. Employers have two (2) days to respond to additional requests before a decision on the claim is made with the available information provided by the claimant. Visit the Responding to UI Claims page for more information.
5
Is there a calendar that I can download that shows all of the dates that various taxes and fees are due? The wage reporting and premium payment deadlines for the FAMLI and UI Division follow the same schedule: the quarterly deadlines fall on the last day of the month following the end of the quarter. If the due date of premiums falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, payment will be considered timely if postmarked or received electronically on the next business day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday:
Q1: April 30
Q2: July 31
Q3: October 31
Q4: January 31
For future reference: those dates are published here for UI and here for FAMLI.
6
Can we please request that total hours used for FAMLI are shared with us as employers? We do provide information on leave utilized when an individual is taking intermittent or reduced schedule leave. There are currently improvements to our HR dashboard that will make this information more readily accessible.
7

8
RE UNEMPLOYMENT: Do sole proprietors and single member entites, whose only employees are the owners, need to have UI?They do not.
9
Will we receive copies of the slides? and will we be able to access a recording of the webinar?Yup! The slides and a recording will be sent out to all who registered. We’ll also be publishing them on our website later today.

As an employer when reporting wages, is it every employee who makes more than $1500.00 in a quarter? You are liable as an employer if you have paid wages of $1,500 or more in a calendar quarter or have employed at least one person for a day in each of 20 different weeks during the current or preceding calendar year. Number of employees does not matter.
11
For UI- having a 48 hour turnaround on information is not enough time for employers. Can this be changed?By law, employers have seven (7) days to respond to the Division’s initial request (RECES 7.4.2). If the Division does not receive a response after the initial time frame, subsequent requests will be made via email and phone calls. Employers have two (2) days to respond to additional requests before a decision on the claim is made with the available information provided by the claimant. Visit the Responding to UI Claims page for more information.

Can you address the disparity between Colorado FAMLI -job protection and Unemployment. Example - the employer follows the 12 week/480 hours of job protected leave, then when jobs are no longer protected and we need to replace the hours and administratively discharge based on the employee not being able to work- Why does unemployment give benefits to them? Now they get another 6 months of time off. We follow the laws regarding jobs, etc but now we are having to pay again.live answered
13
Are 457(f) plans subject to UI?Yes, a 457(f) plan is subject to unemployment insurance (UI) tax, as well as other employment taxes like FICA (Social Security and Medicare), when the deferred compensation becomes vested, or no longer subject to a substantial risk of forfeiture. At this point, the value of the compensation is considered currently taxable income for the employee
