What are SSIC codes?

SSIC codes in Singapore are used by the government primarily for statistical purposes, as well as to help with the regulation and governance of companies.

ACRA can use this code to determine if any additional licenses are required for the business activity carried out by the company.

IRAS can also use this code to determine if specific tax benefits apply to the company.

What does this guide cover?

We’ve put together a cheat sheet of the current top 100 most used SSIC codes for companies in Singapore so you can get a sense of what might be applicable to you.

This is by no means a comprehensive list, and we recommend speaking to your filing agent about selecting the specific code that is right for your business.

❗️Hot tip: SSIC codes where the description ends in ‘NEC’ (not otherwise classified) can be helpful - it acts as a ‘catch-all’ for that category if your business activity is not adequately defined by any other codes.
