6	Flavorful Futures	Deadline is 01	Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident of the United States. Must be a high school senior graduating between August 1, 2021 and July 31, 2022. Must have a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 on a 4 point scale (high school/home schooled seniors). Must enroll for Fall 2022 as a freshman or 1st year student in part-time or full-time study at a 2-year, 4-year, college, university, trade or vocational school. The school must be an accredited U.S. institution, and listed on the official website for the U.S. Department of Education. Must not be a relative or dependent child of an employee of Talking Rain or any of its retail customers.	Award $5,000
7	Don't Mess with Texas Scholarship	4/2/2024	The Don’t mess with Texas Scholarship contest, in partnership with Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB), recognizes the achievements of high school seniors who have taken a leadership role to prevent litter in their school and/or community. Any Texas high school senior planning to pursue a two- or four-year degree at an accredited college or university in the state of Texas for the Fall 2022 semester and who is currently attending public, private, or home school in Texas may apply Scholarship applications will be accepted from January 11, 2022 until March 31, 2022.	$9,000
8	Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship	4/1/2024	- U.S. Citizen - Current high school seniors with a cumulative 2.5 or higher GPA, or current college freshmen or sophomores with a cumulative 2.5 or higher GPA - Planning to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S. - Majoring or planning to major in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Math, Physics, Information Systems/Management Information Systems or Information Assurance - Demonstrate financial need - Awards are for undergraduate study only	$10,000 per year annually
9	Community Foundation of Abilene	Varies by scholarship. Typical deadlines March 1 and April 1 each year.	The Community Foundation of Abilene has many scholarship available to students in the Big Country. Please check out the website and start the application process by clicking "Apply Now". 10	Mike Rowe Works Foundation Work Ethic Scholarship Program	Launching February 28. Deadline: April 17, 2024	The Work Ethic Scholarship Program is about recognizing people who understand the importance of work ethic, personal responsibility, delayed gratification, and a positive attitude. These are hardworking men and women who will keep the lights on, water running, and air flowing. These are people who show up early, stay late, and bust their asses day in and out. 12	Comanche Electric Cooperative Association Scholarships	4/1/2024	Comanche Electric Cooperative takes the education of our youth very seriously, and we strive to encourage our youth to pursue continuing education. It is to this end that we offer five $2,000 Scholarships For Excellence and two $2,000 Operation Round Up scholarships to be paid over four semesters. In addition, the Operation Round Up program has added $1,000 Technical Scholarships, number to be determined by number of applicants, to be paid out over two semesters.	$1,000-$2,000

14	Texas Tech Alumni Association Scholarships	4/15/2024	Every year, the Texas Tech Alumni Association awards hundreds of scholarships funded by alumni contributions. These scholarships are awarded to deserving current undergraduate and graduate students as well as incoming freshmen, incoming graduate and transfer students. TTAA scholarships are awarded based on a variety of factors including ethnicity, academic merit and financial need. In fact, we were pleased to award nearly 200 scholarships that resulted in about $250,000 of funding in 2021.	Varies

17	Baskin Crosby Calderon Scholarship	4/12/2024	The Baskin Crosby Calderon families will award a scholarship to a graduating African-American or Hispanic student based on the following considerations: community service, extra-curricular activities, leadership, future plans, financial need. This scholarship award can be used at any post-high school educational endeavor (4-yr college, 2-yr college, technical school, vocational school, trade school, certificate program); to be paid directly to the school or program to be applied to tuition. The application requires completing a google form with a brief video and written statement to be uploaded.	$1,500
18	Strategic Alliance for Leadership and Social Action (S.A.L.S.A.) Scholarship	04/26/2024	The S.A.L.S.A. organization is offering scholarships in the amount of $500 each. Click link for application. Students selected for S.A.L.S.A. scholarship awards may earn additional funds beyond the $500 scholarship at a rate of $20 per hour for working at S.A.L.S.A events (such as the Cinco De Mayo Celebration). For the "personal statement" students should type or legibly handwrite a description of future plans and goals for education as well as any specific need/why the funds will help the student achieve his or her goals.
