Death and the Maiden quartetYes, veryI heard the piece and wanted to read about itVERY informative, much more so than the majority of classical music articles on wikipedia! Someone has clearly put a lot of work into this. This is what I want to get out of other classical music wikipedia articles but so rarely do, and instead go searching google for program notes. Amazing collection of sound files and graphics. I just found a couple places that I thought needed some small edits, e.g.: The String Quartet No. 14 in D minor, known as Death and the Maiden, by Franz Schubert, is one of the pillars of the chamber music repertoire. -- citation needed? He was broke: he had entered into a disastrous deal with Diabelli to publish a batch of works, and received almost no payment; and his latest attempt at opera, Fierabras, was a flop. -- "broke"? "flop"? maybe a bit too colloquial for an encyclopedia article? but on the whole, great!422 - 30Graduate studentSomewhat knowledgeableI am an amateur musicianI have made occasional edits to Wikipedia, but am not a regular contributorJust love the second movement of this piece. Looking forward to listening to the lied next, now that I've learned it has the same great theme!4

Grosse FugeSomewhat usefulI read about the piece elsewhere, and wanted to read moreA good general introduction, easy to read, but some sections (e.g. "Analysis") don't say where they got their information, so I don't know how trustworthy and authoritative it is.241 - 60I workSomewhat knowledgeableI am a professional musicianI have made occasional edits to Wikipedia, but am not a regular contributorLike so much else in Wikipedia, it's good as a first point of reference, but I am wary of trusting the information because I know anyone can change it - even me. I like to see articles with lots of references so that I can check information if I need to rely on it.1

30
String Quartet No. 15 (Beethoven)Somewhat usefulI read about the piece elsewhere, and wanted to read moreThe article has perfunctory details on the background of the work, followed by a bare enumeration of the movements and their indications, then followed by a technical yet fragmentary exposition not suitable for a lay audience. Finally, a solitary anecdote concerning T.S. Eliot is shoehorned in under the heading of "Influences". The article did expose me to the basic identification of the work, but besides that, illuminated nothing of significant note (for a lay reader). Provide the historical context for this composition; pare down the technical details (or atleast shift it to a separate section later on); provide some background on the performance tradition and its influence on other composers.122 - 30I workSomewhat knowledgeableI don't play, but I listen to a lot of musicI have made occasional edits to Wikipedia, but am not a regular contributorClassical music articles, especially those dedicated to a singular work, should be conformed to a standardized template. Clear guidelines should also be promulgated to convey the type of information, both expected and not, required in an encyclopedic article for lay audiences.2
