Graduate students can take undergraduate courses as well.
We attached a list of English medium courses which is used for 2025-1 since an official course list for 2025-2 and 2026AY hasn't been released yet. Therefore, they are subject to change. The latest list will be available within a month before the semester begins.
Outside business, humanities and social sciences courses, number of English courses is very limited. Students from engineering, sciences etc. should have flexibility with the number and types of courses during their exchange period.
Film courses are mostly only open to the students from following major: Film, Cinema, Fine arts, Multimedia, Audiovisual, etc.

In Dongguk University, the normal load for graduate students are 6-9 credits and undergraduate students are 15 credits.
Please note that 18 credits is considered heavy work for exchange students, and it is difficult to fill up 18 credits.
Students participating in the Intensive Korean Language Program are advised to take less than 12 credits for the regular course work.

Students are not required to provide proof of English Test Result, however, at least they should be good enough to take courses taught in English

The nominations should be sent to the international office of Dongguk University by the coordinator of the partner university via Google Forms only.
The link to the nomination will be sent to our partners at the end of March(for Fall semester exchange) and at the end of September(for Spring semester exchange).
If you have not received a link for the nomination, please send an email to incoming@dongguk.edu.

D. ACCOMODATION

Type of accommodation<On-campus Housing>
1. If they apply for on-campus housing, they will be allocated to one of the three dormitories: Namsan Residence Hall, Chungmu Residence Hall, and Pildong Residence Hall(for female students only).
2. The students cannot choose the dormitory to stay, and will be allocated to one of the three dormitories automatically depending on the circumstances.
3. Goyang Residence Hall is only for the college of Life Science and Biotechnology students who are going to study in Ilsan campus.
4. The capacity of housing is very limited, we may not be able to assign rooms to all applicants.
5. Students can choose to live at the On-campus housing or find their own accommodations(self-prepared place).
6. All students can live in on-campus housing
only for a semester. Year-long exchange students must find their own housing for the second semester.

E. SCHOLARSHIP

Global Korea Scholarship(GKS)
National scholarship program sponsored by the Ministry of Education, mostly for students from ODA nations.
Our international office will choose the candidates and contact them after evaluating the candidates internally. Students cannot apply for GKS by themselves.

Visa
Application Procedures
Visa for Regular Educational Program (D-2)
- All international students going to study in Korea should hold a student VISA (D-2).
Students can apply and obtain the visa at the nearest Korean Embassy or Consulate in the country they reside or study.

- Applicant should submit required documents for D-2 VISA to an embassy or consulate

Students are advised to contact Korean embassy or consulate in their home country for more detailed information (additional documents may be requested by the embaasy depending on the country)

Korean Language Program* Intensive Korean Language Program
The course is very intensive which is held for 10 weeks (4hours every day). The tuition fees are originally KRW1,750,000 per quarter, but we give a 30% discount for exchange students who are in intermediate and advanced level for Korean Language(KRW 1,225,000 for Spring 2025).

Health InsuranceEvery exchange students who visit Korea must enroll NHIS; Korean National Health Insurance
- Various benefits are available; dental and oriental treatment, health checkups, and pregnancy and childbirth-related medical expenses.
- No action is required from students, as they are automatically subscribed to health insurance.
- The reduction rate will return to 50% per year (from March 2023).
- If students receive medical coverage equivalent to medical care benefits by foreign laws, from foreign insurance, or under the contract with their employer, they may apply for exemption from the subscription.

It is required for exchange student to register health insurance in their home country and send a copy of the policy showing his/her name before their arrival. The documents must be accompanied with an English translation if it is not in English. The insurance plan should cover the medical expenses of death occurrences or getting handicapped.

Please be advised that insurance should cover followings:
