Robotics ClubThe Fremont High Robotics Team strives for success in the pursuit of excellence in engineering, leadership, and community service through participation in the FIRST Robotics program. The team strives to not only teach high school students proper engineering techniques and enhance their leadership and decision-making skills through participation in the FIRST Robotics Program, but also to inspire younger students by introducing them to opportunities in STEM fields that they may otherwise not be exposed to.

With over 80 active high school team members, 19 active middle school team members, 5 elementary school members, and 14 active adult mentors, the Firebots are one of the largest and most active student organizations on the Fremont High School campus. The team relies on its five core values — We Not Me, Debate and Collaborate, Act with Integrity, Be Courageous, and Deliver Results — in all aspects of team interactions and activities.

The Firebots are a student-run, student-driven team. The team focuses on several core goals: science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) education, leadership development, financial management, media development, and community outreach. The team participates in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition, where students design, build, and test new robots each year with guidance from professional adult mentorship. FIRST is an organization which aims to teach students about science and engineering through their programs for various age levels (FIRST Robotics Competition - FRC, FIRST Tech Challenge - FTC, FIRST Lego League - FLL, and FIRST Lego League Junior - FLL Jr). Being an FRC team, the Firebots support participation in all levels of competition, including mentoring 2 FTC teams and 4 FLL teams.

The team uses a year-round approach to ensure that team members receive the education they deserve while also fulfilling the mission of FIRST.
Leadership development begins with elections in May and continues throughout the year.
Students engage in a Training Season from September through December, during which they participate in hands-on building challenges supplemented by workshops taught by experienced mentors and senior students. These workshops include technical skill development in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software development, safety, game strategy, financial management, public relations, and media.
During Build Season (from September through November for FLL and FTC competitions; from January through March for FRC competition), the team develops a robot, game strategy, and media presence in preparation for competition.
During Competition Season (November through January for FLL and FTC; March through April for FRC), students demonstrate their robots at various regional and sometimes national competitions, along with projects and other aspects of the skills they have gained through participation. Team members who wish to participate in Competition Season must have been active during the Training and Build Seasons.
Competition Season is followed by the Outreach “Season” that takes place throughout the year. During the Outreach Season, the team hosts local competitions including an annual FLL qualifier tournament beginning in 2018 and the Calgames Off-Season FRC tournament every 3 to 4 years. Team members also participate in several community events, providing robot demonstrations at local schools, libraries and companies, thereby sparking an interest in science and technology in young minds.

Fremont High is a highly diverse environment, with approximately 30% of students identifying as Asian or Pacific Islander, 45% as Hispanic, and 19% as Caucasian. In order for all students in our socioeconomically diverse school to have equal access to all that the team has to offer, we do not charge a participation fee. Therefore, as a non-profit organization, the Fremont High Firebots rely on corporate donations, community donations, and grants for financial and mentorship support.

Science OlympiadCheck us out on instagram: @fremont_science_olympiad. Science Olympiad is a nationwide STEM competition for students in grades 9-12, where teams compete in 23 different events pertaining to different scientific disciplines, including Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Robotics, and Engineering. Events can range from Anatomy & Physiology to Trajectory, Cellular Biology, Wifi Lab, Bridge, Astronomy, Forensics, Environmental Chemistry, Experimental Design, and more! Each member is responsible for 3-4 events, and each event has 2 people working together on it from each team. Every year, thousands of Science Olympiad teams across the US prepare to come together and compete to win honorable & prestigious awards, including medals, trophies, plaques, & even scholarships!

The Fremont High School Science Olympiad program strives to be an “umbrella” organization whose mission is to engage students and grow their passion for science and various STEM disciplines through teamwork, mentorship, leadership, research, learning, and competition. SciOly is a great platform to help students in our school explore different exciting STEM-related fields, discover their specific interests, and advance in them. Besides expanding their knowledge, this is a great opportunity to boost members' grades and college applications, pushing them to more advanced levels and classes, and ultimately setting them toward success in their field(s) of interest.

Our 3 competitive teams of 45 members start preparing as early as September, and spend the year exploring advanced fields of STEM to eventually represent Fremont High in various tournaments and competitions. We also are working to build up an outreach sector, having started and mentoring a middle school Science Olympiad team at Cupertino Middle, and are looking to expand to other schools!

Vietnamese Student Association (VSA)The Vietnamese Student Association seeks to foster an environment for Vietnamese students. We strive to embrace Vietnamese heritage and promote culture. This club is also open to non-Vietnamese students interested in learning more about Vietnamese culture. We will achieve this from meetings that will promote opportunities for outside-of-school activities to help support Vietnamese communities and presentations that aim to further knowledge of culture. In addition, interactive activities will present themselves.Andrew Pham (apham576@student.fuhsd.org), Jessica Khoan (jkhoan983@student.fuhsd.org), Nathan Nguyen (nnguyen574@student.fuhsd.org), Nicole Huynh (nhuynh841@student.fuhsd.org)Ms. SnyderA-202apham576@student.fuhsd.org, jkhoan983@student.fuhsd.org, nnguyen574@student.fuhsd.org, nhuynh841@student.fuhsd.org
