1		magnets have a magnetic field that exerts a magnetic force.	all magnets have a north and a south pole	if you cut a magnet into pieces, each one becomes a small two-pole magnet	like poles (or charges) attract each other, opposite poles repel each other	the orientation of the domains (clusters of electrons) in a magnet are in the same direction	magnetic field is strongest at the poles	magenetic field extends in a curved path from one pole towards the other	flowing electricity creates a magnetic field	a coil of wire (around iron) creates a stronger electromagnet	reversing the flow of electricity reverses the poles	solenoid is a sequence of spaced out loops that create a linear magnetic field	iron, nickel, and cobalt are the only magnetic metals	magentic fields are 3d	the Earth is a big magnet because of it's moving molten core of iron	the strenght of the Earth's magnet field becomes stonger towards the core	blood has iron in it	magnet strength is determined by size, temp, and material	motors involve electricity and magnetism	diagram or description about how a motor works	many devices use motors and/or magnets (speakers, appliances, MRI, mag-lev trains, etc)	iron filings or a compass (or similar) can be used to show the magnitic field (otherwise it is invisible)	magnetism can be used to create electricity.	some planets have a magnetic field (due to core composition) and others dont	you can make a magnet by rubbing a magnetic material with another magnet to allign the domains	auroras are the lights in the atmosphere near the poles, where field is strongest	magnetism can go through things (paper, etc)	Total
