Ninja (ninja rope)4In standard, +combat (which you require to get Ninja Assassins) absolutely sucks to attain, so these are worth quite a lot; they save you a locket + 2 backups if you have those IOTMs, and even more if you don't have those IOTMs.

Book of Matches3If you don't find a janitor, this allows you to access cursed punch as well as a freekill on Drunk Pygmies within the bowling alley; you are very, very likely to encounter a few drunk pygmies, and avoiding hassle in the apartment is also worth a turn. In banish-heavy paths, you can turn this into 11-12 free fights (that inexplicably charge your cursed magnifying glass) against drunk pygmies by banishing everything else in the zone; this is a huge addition to familiar turns, though does require a few banishes to access. Sometimes very useful.

Hero Key Lime Pie2-4Skip the daily dungeon! The dungeon, with cubeling drops, takes anywhere from 2-4 turns. Each one of these cuts those turns, in exchange for 4 fullness at 14-16 turngen each (3.75 adv/fullness).

Items to cap Lair Damage Tests2-3Lair test damage is sometimes hard to get. If you get a sleaze test, you're probably fine due to the glut of sleaze damage we have in standard, and the likelihood that you already pulled a deck of lewd cards (see above)

For other tests, if you are having trouble capping it, here are some useful pulls:

- Stench: halibut (100 stench)
- Hot: fire flower (50 fire)
- Cold: freezerburned ice cube (50 cold)
- Spooky: deadly lampshade (75 spooky)

rusty hedge trimmers1-2Forces a NC in Twin Peaks. Useful, but can be solved via polar vortex or goose drones.

HOA regulation book1-2In standard, this saves effectively zero turns, as it is pretty easy to cap Blech house with a large perm list. However, if you are having trouble, it makes it -really- easy to get maximum blech house progress per turn in the Smut Orc Logging Camp; it reduces the orc's HP to 1, which allows you to max progress with at least 5 cold damage, which should be trivial. It also adds 2 res for the NC, which helps a bit. Certainly lowers the hassle of the zone, although does require getting the item from Dreadsylvania. Consider doing some dread runs with #clan-dungeon in the ASS discord!

tangle of rat tails1You should be able to get one of these in your run. If you miss one, you should definitely pull it, but wait until you do the tavern to assess.

Pygmy Surgeon Gear1Gives you a chance of encountering the Hidden Hospital boss before you encounter a surgeon. Spading by Aenimus indicates that free-runs are better in this zone after you have 2-3 pieces of gear; consider pulling just that amount.

amulet of extreme plot significance1If you finish airship without getting it, this is a great pull; it's low on this list because it's pretty rare for this to happen, as it's important enough to usually be worth a yellow ray.

These pulls will help quests indirectly, by improving your stats or helping on multiple checks.

Equipment slots of your choice; the dice gear is useful for folks without numberology & the powerful glove, but it is questionably useful with those IOTMs. In particular, the Dice-print do rag (hat) -- White Pixels; Solid Gold Monsters; hippy outfit; misc. meat, booze, food. If you do not have one, do a run of One Crazy Random Summer to get the always-on 1CRS rewards.

Eleven-Leaf Clover2-3Extra clovers to force NCs in Mob of Zeppelin Protestors (depends on number of hermit clovers available)

patent invisibility tonic2-3Potion; If you can put a bunch of NC zones together, the -15% buff from this potion is quite valuable in cutting the tail on NC-searching. Think friars, castle ground floor, penultimate fantasy airship, spooky forest, spookyraven, etc -- tons of places need NC in this game.

(Also, +8 cold res is non-trivial for A-Boo & the Level 8 quest!)

Hot/Stench Resistance<1For most users, these are not very good pulls, hence the low value. However, for users with low IOTMs & perms, spending a pull or two on hot & stench resistance to allow you to cap advancement in the Haunted Kitchen and turn that zone from 15+ turns into 7 turns, depending on just how bad your resistance picture is. You should be able to generate about 3-4 res from simple things you get in-run.

For the remaining resistance, you have three main options:

- Pull both a SPF 451 lip balm (+9 hot res) and a Dogsgotnonoz pills (+9 stench res)
- Pull a Dallas Dynasty Falcon Crest shield, for +5 prismatic resistance (requires 85 muscle)
- Pull a topee for +3 hot res & +3 stench res

Platinum Yendorian Express Card1/day*PYEC used to extend short buffs (like Cyclops or Inhaler), cool down zap wands, and grabs a few familiar turns back by making the Cubeling's lockpicks unnecessary.

Growth Pulls
These pulls will help your turngen or leveling, allowing you to shorten your run's daycount (though often not as turncount-helpful)

[glitch season reward name][some amount of stats + meat]This is the reward for glitch PVP seasons. It scales based on the number of times you have "implemented" it in aftercore. The scaling is such that the monster itself can be difficult to beat unless you have stuns (like the Sweat Flood skill or Curse of Marinara + shell up + noodle entanglement + the retrocape kiss attack + "Feel Superior" from the emotion chip). If you do have stuns, the monster will reward you a bunch of stats, depending on how high you've scaled it up. Can be made better by looping. Fight it in aftercore to ensure it is generating more stats than red rocket stuff described below!

Guilty Sprout~1150ish substatsWhen paired with a red rocket, this is a gob of stats that can get you anywhere from 50-75% to the next level. Note that you must be level 8 to consume these, so you may be unable to consume them in your first red rocket window if you are low-shiny. Requires Clan VIP access.

Strategy Pulls
These pulls add resources you cannot access otherwise, and can (with strategic use) provide a lot of value.

Breathitin5Spleen item; costs 2 spleen to chew. Converts your next 5 fights outdoors into free fights. They're weird free fights, as they still charge your Cursed Magnifying Glass, and they can be reserved over to the next day. Basically a flat 5 turns saved, although they can be a tiny bit more valuable by conserving buffs (like Ultrahydrated or battery buffs). Be careful not to do free fights in outdoor zones (via Gregarious wanderers or Piranha Plant) while Breathitin is active, as free outdoor fights do steal a Breathitin charge and waste it.

Off-hand item; this pull will convert 4% of your fights into free fights. This is -awesome- and will generally save a bunch of turns. However, 4% is a pretty low activation rate, which means you need to run it for at least 100-200 turns to actualize that value, and there's quite a bit of variance on the final turnsavings. If you own a lot of the IOTM offhands (cursed magnifying glass, the unbreakable umbrella, and the familiar scrapbook), this may be significantly harder to route in than it otherwise would for a low shiny account. Also, it has +25 ML as the enchantment, which is good for initial leveling and great for late-run ML tasks like tavern + oil peak + swarm of ghuol whelps + (in some paths) monstrous boiler ML to charge your Wine Bomb, if you have lefty to hold the potted plant.

Extrovermectin3-4Spleen item; costs 2 spleen to chew. Allows you to copy a monster 3 times into the combat selection vector for all zones you adventure in. This allows you to put monsters into delay zones rather than their own zones, which is helpful. Often used with free fights (like Black Crayon Monsters, Lynyrds, or Eldritch Tentacles) while doing a lot of delay burn at once. Be careful about combining this with Breathitin, as an inherently free fight still eats one Breathitin charge. Can sometimes force an extra copy using the miniature crystal ball, though not consistently.

4-d camera1-2Combat item; copies a GROP, allowing you to get an extra GROP spit exactly when your YR is up. Could also use to copy a Lobsterfrogman or anything else that's annoying to access. If you lack backup camera, you could use the Combat Lover's Locket to locket a Ninja Snowman Assassin, use a 4-d camera to copy it on D1, then fight the copy and use a second 4-d camera to copy it again on D2.

If you have CMC, you absolutely should not pull this -- if you don't have CMC, it's a decent amount of turnsavings that you can't get otherwise by freeing up the one turn-costing craft of the run (unstable fulminate) and letting you make food/drink/lynyrd gear for free.

ring1Accessory; this is the in-season reward from the 2CRS challenge path. It's mostly a meme pull. It will randomly roll a number of small effects. Two of these effects are +1 familiar XP, so (very rarely), the ring will be a strictly better version of the teacher's pen. if you get 2 familiar XP on it, it will allow you to get to Grey Goose drones much quicker. It is strictly worse than teacher's pen in about 95% of your runs, but it will (occasionally) be slightly better.

battery (9-volt)1Could be greater than 1 turn if you are able to upgrade it to lantern/car using your own potted power plant's AAA batteries for more turns of the better buffs. Otherwise, it's 1 turn

Repaid Diaper-When used with a fairy familiar, extra ~20% item drop. It increases Vintner damage slightly, but does not get you to the next wine level for the familiar XP wine, so it's unnecessary. Becomes much more valuable in metas with things like Pocket Professor or Stomping Boots.
