58		(1) Federally, eligible providers (DEA-registered practitioners) can prescribe schedule II-V controlled substances - including opioids - via telehealth for duration of emergency, including to patients for whom they have not conducted an in-person medical evaluation, provided certain conditions are met. Practitioners with DEA registration numbers are permitted to prescribe in neighboring states to dispense controlled substances, when state laws allow for reciprocity during emergency period
59		(2) As of March 30, 2020, few states with relatively restrictive opioid laws (see 2018 tracker from the National Conference of State Legislatures: https://www.ncsl.org/research/health/prescribing-policies-states-confront-opioid-overdose-epidemic.aspx) have taken steps to temporarily "open up" these laws to ensure that people living with serious illness have access.
