Equality Health CenterMedical Abortion (Pills)Offered up to 11 weeks into pregnancy.When you call to schedule an appointment for an abortion procedure (603-225-2739), give yourself about 10-15 minutes of private time to speak with providers. Requires two visits to the Health Center, as well as a 24-hour period during which you will pass the pregnancy at your own home; have a phone and transportation on hand in case of medical emergency. Return one week after your first appointment to be sure that the procedure is complete. Both medical and surgical abortion services are covered under many major insurance plans. Equality Health Center accepts Anthem Blue/Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim, MVP, United Health Care, CIGNA, and some University/College health plans. If you have insurance we will check with your insurance company on your behalf to see if abortion is a covered benefit and what if any your out-of-pocket expense may be. If you have a co-pay and/or co-insurance that sum is expected to be paid the day of your appointment.Full payment is expected at the time of service. We accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover (debit or credit cards), cashier’s checks, money orders and cash. Safe, one-day procedure performed by caring and highly qualified, board certified physicians and Nurse Practitioners. Plan to be at the Health Center for approximately 4-5 hours.

You will have a pregnancy test and ultrasound at the health center, we will provide you with the medications that you need to take (Mifeprex and Misoprostol). We require that you return to the health center for a follow-up visit for an ultrasound to ensure you are no longer pregnant.We accept Anthem/Blue Cross and Blue Shield, BXBS, United Health Care, Maine Community Health Options, Cigna Healthcare, Harvard Pilgrim and its affiliates, NH Medicaid, Well Sense, Maine Care, NH Healthy Families and Healthy Kids. In-Clinic AbortionOffered up to 14 weeks+6 days from the first day of your last menstrual period.All patients receiving abortion care must have a pre-appointment telehealth consultation. The appointment is typically 2-3 hours including the actual procedure which is completed in 7-10 minutes and performed under local anesthesia (you are awake) using gentle suction. It is normal to feel moderate to heavy cramping during the procedure. The abortion is performed by an experienced, board-certified physician.Our fee for an in-clinic procedure starts at $500 on the day of your appointment. This fee includes a telehealth pre-appointment consult, an ultrasound, in-house lab work, and a follow-up appointment. The fee may change depending on gestation, additional medication, and/or testing. If you are having difficulty paying for your appointment, we will do our best to help you access assistance.
