How to use this template for a Content Audit

The content audit is a place to collect your existing content, list the effectiveness of each piece, and determine next steps. Look across your website, blog, and social channels at what exists today and list those pieces in the green columns. Then track the performance in the blue columns. Finally, determine next steps in the yellow columns. If content is performing well, ask your team, "Could it be shared in different ways or should we create more content like this?" If it is not performing well, you can use the next steps space to identify what could be changed.

Performing a content audit helps ensure that your existing content is aligned with your marketing strategy. For example, you can do this during planning cycles to determine whether content should stay in circulation or be retired. Additionally, you may want to see if you already have content on hand could fit the needs for a new marketing initiative (like rebranding, an event, or a product launch/update) -- or if it should be updated so it fits.
