VIDEO TUTORIALS: How to use this google sheet with my information? How to use the Units of Study Content Credit Form - U of SThe importance of the Development tools
20
Instructions: Please read the instructions first before completing the form. Video tutorials above are also an important resource (still under development)
21
This form records both Content Credits and “Bench Hours”. In a Mentee’s journey through the Academy, this is an important tool to capture and document progress and accomplishments.
22
The most updated version of the form will be required each time you apply to the next role in the Academy.
23
Content Credits and Bench Hours are accumulative. You will be adding information to this ONE form from when you entered the Academy as an Intern through each role on your journey in the ATA.
24
Keep in communication with your Mentor when adding information to this form. The last column (Column H) is for you to verify that the content on that line has been agreed upon with your Mentor. When submitting an application for a NEW role, the Mentor is required to review and confirm the information on this entire form.
25
How to migrate from the OLD Units of study to the NEW one?
26
The OLD Units of study had a TOTAL of 200 credits. The current version has a total of 100 credits. Now, if you have 25 credits it is equivalent to 25% of the total credits, 50 credits, 50%, etc.
27
We encourage you to migrate to the new form, specially if you are an Intern, Associate or recently approved Professional. The ATA administrators are ready to manage both versions and can assist you on changing the content from one to the other if needed. VIDEO on how to migrate forms.
28
Qualifying for Content Credits:
29
The Mentee fills the form with dates and details of the activities they feel qualifies them for any specific Content Credits.
30
Besides teaching in a level One program other acceptable ways for a mentee to demonstrate competence and attain content credits are creating a workshop/lesson plan; delivering a workshop; personal practice; or additional reading and study as agreed with the Mentor.
31
- Whenever the mentee and Mentor meet, the "Content Credit Form" is reviewed and then Content Credits are approved, if appropriate. It is up to the Mentor as to whether there was an effective delivery of the topic.
32
- Once the Mentoring Lead Trainer "signs off" on the content credits for a particular topic the mentee is considered qualified to teach that topic.
33
- That is the reason why you cannot list partial credits for a curriculum topic. For Example if in Unit 4, for Humanology, the mentee and Mentor agree that only 2 out of the 4 total Content Credits have been achieved, those Content Credits should NOT be included on your form because you have not yet qualified to teach this area of the curriculum.
34
- Please note: You do not need to complete all of the content credits in a Unit.
35

36
Effective Bench Hours:
37
Bench hours means the period of time you’ve taught as the trainer in a Level One program. In this column list only the effective Bench time, when you taught a topic in Level One Teacher Training. Only include the hours approved by your Mentor.
38
IMPORTANT: For facilitating the feedback for student's Practicum there are NO bench hours. Bench hours do not need to be obtained for each topic. Bench hours should not be listed for a topic until you have attained the content credits for that topic.
39
Requirements:
40
Intern: must qualify for the 7.5 practicum content credits in Unit 1 - this is the only required credits to apply for Associate trainer. See Intern Role Descrtiption.
41
Associate Candidate: to apply to become an Associate, Intern needs to have qualified for the 7.5 practicum content credits in Unit 1 and be capable of performing the expected responsibilities for the Associate role.
42
