As someone who doesn’t use excel in my studies/classes and is new to economics and business, I was very confused doing the WFM. I would suggest finding a way to explain the instructions better or add more details/examples. It was hard to navigate on my own with the instructions and websites provided because it had a lot of vocabulary I had never seen or heard before.

Incentives, and enthusiasm at the beginning of meetings will get people excited and in the mood to be productive/positive. I know Sundays are hard but I know most the sessions I was just tired and drained from the week

I feel like EA has the potential to expand on campus and in our lives if we include people with more majors, in different fields, different career/graduate paths. This will help bring in different opinions, views, causes, knowledge, etc. I felt like an odd ball most the time in the group, but I know my present and future EA work and dedication will be just as meaningful as the others in the group, but in different ways because I will not be working a high end corporate finance job making a fancy salary everyday like majority of UF students.

I would not say that I would not have signed up, but it would be tough to throw on top of everything else we do. Thats basically an extra 2 credit of class per week.

I was missing for the week you explained a bit in class, but to me the "influence" and "direct value" was very confusing and hard to estimate. The estimations are so broad and because they are being done by yourself, you are likely to have bias when estimating, which may decrease the accuracy and honesty of the career outcome. Maybe there is a way to adjust this or create easier benchmarks through accurate examples.

Effective Altruism is truly this way of life that individuals should incorporate from the small scale upwards. It can start with the task of thinking about the choices you make through the course of your life (both personal and professional). It should be done with the intention of helping or benefiting the widest range of people possible.

It is looking at the amount of people being affected by an issue, the point to which these issues can be solved and also what programs/ policies are currently in place to help as of right now.

The resurgence of pandemics like COVID, Artifical Intelligence in so many sectors, promoting EA as a practice and things like climate change or the use of nuclear weapons.

It is giving priority to helping future generations by thinking in the long term rather than in the short term. Think about all the people that have ever lived..there is potential for SO many more people to exist.

The importance of an ITN framework is that it allows people to organize their goals surrounding a global issue and maximize the potential of its solutions by analyzing importance (based on the amount of 'good' produced), tractability (problems solved relative to abundance of resources), and neglectedness (abundance of resources relative to people or money).

Some of the world's most pressing problems include pandemics, nuclear war, quality of research with respect to AI, decision making, and ways to build EA communities), as well as climate change.

If the goal is to have an overall better idea of our career path, I think it should be more qualitative than quantitative. If it needs to stay quantitative, the step by step process should be broken up into more steps rather than various steps complied into a paragraph.
