Arena Snapshot Quick Guide

The Snapshot spreadsheet is a dynamic tool designed to synthesize all available data related to a campaign. This information can include, but is not limited to the current number of registered voters, past and future (modeled) turnout levels, partisan support breakdown, and previous election results in a given political geography.

The Snapshot calculates what would happen if the election were held today and estimates how far you are from achieving 51% of the vote in a district.

In addition to understanding how many votes stand between you and victory, the Snapshot allows you to simulate the effects of a targeted, programmatic campaign on the electorate.

The data in this template is just example data. Upload data from your VAN or voterfile to update this template with information for the desired district.

We have updated instructions to use VAN Counts and Crosstabs to populate and analyze data in the snapshot. If you are using a different Voterfile CRM and if it has crosstab functionality then you can plug that data into the relevant data tabs in the document.

District_OverviewContains key dates related to your election, past elections results for the district, as well as related elections results, which can provide helpful insights as you create a pathway to victory for your campaign.

Registration C&CThis tab is for your counts and crosstabs export from VAN with the number of registered voters in the district. There are multiple columns designated for demographics from the voterfile to view your data (in some places where demographic information, like race or party is not available you might want to substitute geography like county). The first column will be used in the pathway to victory document to help aggregate your data.

Vote History C&CThis tab is for your counts and crosstabs export from VAN with the number of voters who voted in previous election of your choosing. This data is used as comparison for your Turnout score. In a 2020 general election scenario we recommend using 2016 general election data here. Make sure the first column on this tab matches the order on the registration C&C tab, this will be used in the pathway to victory document to help aggregate your data.
