7/11/2015 16:56:46If you have side bags on your bike I suggest you avoid the Red section of this leg. There is a descent that is super tight and has several switchbacks that my riding partner and I had to help each other get around by dragging the front and rear wheels. Graham Jarvis would just nose wheelie down them but unless you are at his skill lever I say forget it. I'm not exaggerating when I say we were riding on a 45* decline and our bags were scrapping the side of the hill most of the time and trying to send us off the trail. It took us maybe three hours to descend this section and it got dark on us. The terrain was so steep we couldn't set up camp so we had to get going until the trail got wide enough to set up our tents directly on the trail. Just don't do it.Turtle

6/17/2017 10:11:01Great repair shop located in Silvercliff, right next to the town of Westcliff.Chip's ATV and Motorcycle Repair- Chip operates a great little motorcycle repair shop with his wife right on the highway in Silver cliff. He repaired a couple of electrical issues on our 2 KLRs. His rate was insanely fair and he is a genuine nice guy. He will also allow things to be shipped in for services etc. 719-783-2924 is the shops number.Josh

8/18/2018 19:21:14I agree with the earlier post, the red trail is for enduro bikes only. It gets increasingly difficult the further you go. It's doable on a fully loaded WR250R but it's a slog. We got almost to the end and finally gave up on a long, steep, rocky uphill. We were exhausted, it was getting late, and a storm was moving in so we backtracked and exited at the East Cisneros trailhead.txmxrider
