*It is the policy of the board of education of Ogden City School District, in partnership with parents and families and in accordance with state and federal guidelines to establish a parent and family involvement procedural framework.
*It is the policy of the Board of Education of Ogden City School District that the district and schools coordinate with families to improve student academic rediness to learn and academic outcomes.
*It is the policy of the Board of education of Ogden City School District that the district and schools will inform all stakeholders of the parent and family involvement policy and procedures, and annually update its effectiveness.

Some examples of Parent Engagement Actities at Mound Fort Jr. High are:

*Homevisit Training and Implementation for both contigent and non-contigent home visits.

*Increase attendance through community involvement and outreach; Educate parents on steps they can do to help improve attendance rates for their students.

*Track student attendance of those who have had homevisits done in regards to attendance.

*Students and community will start to see the importance of school attendance. Parents will push students to get to school and the school will partner with United Way to provide evening classes to parents.

*Purchase Postage and Positive Postcards for both teachers and admins to send home.

Goal #1Literacy

Develop two school wide literacy strategies that can be used in all classes. Based on some findings through our work with UVA last spring it was recommended we focus on balanced literacy and two strategies that we decided to implement were academic vocab word walls and choral reading.

Goal #2Graduation

To increase school attendance to 93%, increase the amount of students considered On Track for 7th, 8th and 9th to 85%. (60% or higher). Increase parent involvement.

Eighth grade will decrease the number of minor incidences by 25% (1611 total incidences or less) from the 2017-18 school year.
