Produce food for our cooking classes; increase yield and get better at weeding!; increase community and volunteer involvement
The garden staff work well together and in our first food-productive season, we're excited to be harvesting squash, tomatoes, blackberries, lettuce, kale, cucumbers, and more!; the garden is used in our Seed to Supper classes, and the volunteers at the Food Farmacy enjoy working in the garden in the mornings
We had irrigation issues starting out, but we don't anticipate that next year. We don't have enough staff time for weeding/regular garden maintenance, but we are hoping to get more hours and involve the community/volunteers more next season
Yes
We would love to involve the Behavioural Health patients on the Kaseman campus -- I would love to have meditation+workdays, and other classes for mental health and wellbeing in the garden. I hope we can produce enough food to supplement our Food Farmacy program and/or the Neighborhood Food Hub, to continue getting fresh produce to those with medical conditions and others in need
