| Spring-summer crops from the Maple Drive Neighborhood Greenhouse
| This document (which some of you with e-permission can interact with) will provide us with the working basis for getting a feel for numbers and preferences. We have a good deal of experience with varieties which work well, and a strong leaning toward high performing OP material, but please feel free to describe personal preferences around varieties and timing and so forth. We will factor this feedback into decisions about which varieties to settle in on, and how to balance a broad array of needs. We are already getting requests to see what our variety list looks like. Your input, in other words, will touch many beyond this circle, indeed this working document may become a useful resource for helping support other local, neighborhood greenhouse efforts.
| I have removed direct sown crops from the main body of this list - generally not the concern of a greenhouse. However, if we face cold and uncertain weather, we can always propagate corn and beans in the greenhouse for transplanting, for example. If you would like to add details of your own varietal preferences to a listing of direct-sown crop types, I have attached their names to the foot of this list. I may yet add the latest intel surrounding direct-sown crop varieties which are making impressive showings locally and where they can be sourced. For further hints on your own propagation or direct sown efforts, please see the notes attached to the seeding calendar at: http://www.seedambassadors.org/Mainpages/Guardian/SeedingGuide/springseedingcalendar.htm
| Fruit will come on line, in time. We already have rootstock to propagate 2-300 hundred top-performing tree fruit varieties into the ground this spring. We are also very strong on grapes. We have ready access to the best in a slew of other fruit types, too. Winter vegetable cropping is a later discussion.
| Please add comments freely, by highlighting a relevant cell and clicking on Insert - comment (in the googledocs menu bar at the top of this webpage). For example, if you make succession sowings of lettuce, over what timeframe? Which toms have/haven't worked for you? Feel free to add crop types and sub-types I have dropped. Please feel free to add to and change your input on as as needed basis, but for now, please do your data input thang before Friday, March 9 .
| Numbers refer to the numbers of plants rather than plant containers. For example, 100 lettuce means 100 lettuce transplants and not 100 six-packs of lettuce.
