MARC tags with grey highlighting are not mapped to the XC Schema.
4
5
MARC tags with blue highlighting aren't mapped directly to the XC Schema because they are first mapped to 9XX fields by the MARCXML Normalization Service.
6
Consult MARCXML Normalization Service documentation to see what data is mapped to what 9XX field and why. This spreadsheet then shows how 9XX fields are then mapped to the XC Schema
7
8
Green or red highlighting is used to indicate status of testing of most recent changes (green: ok; red: an issue that needs follow-up)
9
10
Orange highlighting indicates proposed changes to mapping to incorporate XC Schema and Normalization Service changes that are not yet implemented.
11
12
Yellow highlighting indicates that implementation status is uncertain: needs further testing.

General Mapping Rules
15
16
If specific subfields are not listed in mapping instructions, ALL subfields are mapped
17
18
Mappings to XC Schema eliminate subfield code and data, leaving a single space between data from the two subfields, unless described otherwise (e.g. 6XX fields)
19
20
The following subfields are not mapped unless specifically indicated: $5, $6, $8
21
22
For fields that can appear in either the bib or holding records, the same instructions are provided for each tab.
