jib halyard run backwards through the block.

tabs on the stern bent to make it harder for the rudders to release from the pintles. required a screwdriver to get the rudder on and off.

9/25 adjusted - temp fix

centerboard clearing line came apart and had to be cut away.

9/26 actually ceterboard gasket parted, jamed

One of the boats lost a side stay during class last week (the stat itself is fine, the pin came out). Other cotter rings look ready to fail. All the stays need their cotter rings inspected, replaced if worn or misshaped, and taped.

Ensure all boats have correct drain plugs. Some do, some don’t.

Quick release pins at the bows for the jibs are either missing or the mechanism is jammed. They should be replaced.

Rudders and Tillers: at least two are unusable due damage and more are getting there. These need to be overhauled. Specific issues are broken tiller extension joints and rudders that pivot in the rudder casing.

Sails: some old sails have made it into orange bags and new sails into old blue bags. This needs to be fixed to avoid confusion. I haven’t bothered to remedy this because the orange bags In general are in tatters have and need immediate replacement. When those arrive the “musical bags” shuffling can commence.

Shock cord on the tennis balls in the transom: some boats have them, some boats need replaced, some boats don’t have it at all, or have line instead of shock cord. Make all the boats have the same method for securing the tennis ball.

Some centerboards need new raising and lowering line. An effort should be made to make this identical across all boats.

rub rail on the skiff came off this summer and should be replaced with something. There is a length of fire hose loitering down by the skiff. Is that what the fire hose is for?

The fuel filter for the skiffs outboard has been bypassed. Was this intentional?

The ball receiver on the trailer needs lubricating.

The skiff has a difficult time fitting on the trailer. Specifically the trailer’s bow-stop and winch is really in the wrong place, or too high. It is impossible to get the bow up high enough on the trailer when recovering to make use of the winch. The winch should be much lower, in my opinion.

All are in need of a new rubber bow-stop (the “V”) at the front of the dolly.

All of the horn cleats on the front of the dollys for tying the painter to have sheared off. These should be replaced, preferably with metal horn cleats and/or through-bolts instead of screws.

Kickstands. Adding a kick stand to the dolly to tilt the boat back would be amazing. This would require fabrication by grant.

The rubber handles continue to slide off and deteriorate. A mechanism for keeping the rubber handles from sliding off would be great. This would require fabrication by grant.
