The St. Louis Giants/Stars played at this park for 3 season, from 1919-1922. The grandstand, bleachers, and clubhouse were built from the ground up by the Giants owners. This is one of the first ballparks that were built by a Negro League team. The Giants played their first two seasons in the NNL at this ballpark. This park also hosted other events for the African-American community, and the larger StL community in general, including track meets and boxing matches.
I can easily obtain any photo needed of this site in its present condition. A gast station and truck lot sit on part of the site, but most of the site of the actual park is a vacant lot behind the gas station and truck lot.
