STREAM Girls Volunteer Interest Form
2
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the first STREAM Girls Program in southeast Pennsylvania on Saturday, August 17 – Sunday, August 18, 2019! In this 2-day oudoor program made possible through partnerships among the Valley Forge Chapter of Trout Unlimited (VFTU), Stroud Water Research Center, the PA Council of TU, and the PA Fish & Boat Commission, 20-24 local Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes (4th - 8th grade) will be engaged in hands-on STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and math), recreation (fly-tying and casting), and art (field journaling). Throughout the Stroud Center's 1800-acre experimental watershed and Anson B Nixon Park's recreational fishing areas, young girls will explore stream habitats studied year-round by real scientists, collect data on wriggling stream bugs, learn fly-tying/fly-casting from lifelong anglers, and become empowered stewards of their backyard water resources. Questions or concerns? Please email scoutprograms@stroudcenter.org. Watch the Trout Unlimited National promotional video here: https://vimeo.com/296060481.
