Large car park (The only one in the village) on right opposite Bar / Restaurante JaliscoInto a local “Grand” canyon, not quite as large, long or deep, but grand enough and similar in that you start off high and walk down low, meanwhile trying not to forget the extent of the climb back up. Starting from the remote mountain village of Benimaurell, along a charming, winding country lane to near Fleix and then down a beautifully engineered old mule path, once one of the country's main roads, to the usually dry bed of the Riu Ebo.
Becoming wilder and less frequented as you walk upstream along a path and streambed into the ever-narrowing spectacular gorge of l Infern, finally blocked to walkers by a series of high, narrow usually dry waterfalls and pools. Then back a bit and a steep climb out of the gorge up a poor path to join another mule path, which takes you in easy zig, zags up 200 meters to the top of seemingly unscalable cliffs. From now on easy walking to Font dels Olbi and down the surfaced road to Benimaurell and the Oasis Bar or the nearby new hotel.

Montgo Denia X circuit from Los Lagos
105606S/BJesus PobreJesus Pobre. 38.801992, 0.094628 .Los Lagos. km 6 on CV735 between La Xara (near Denia) and Javea. Turn into Los Lagos, then immediately left and park. The walk starts from Los Largos where there is plenty of parking. A gentle ascent for 20 minutes through the wooded area behind Los Largos before reaching the gully. The gully is a steep climb of about 1 hour with sections of loose stones in places. Once at the top the walk continues with a gentle climb on good tracks. The final ascent becomes a little steeper on a very rocky path of the "pointy type” often experienced in this area. So sticks are a help. Spectacular views from the cross towards both Javea and Denia. Cameras a must. The descent initially follows the same rocky path down until it becomes a gentle descent on good paths. The final section is very scree like where again sticks would be a plus.Note this walk is very weather dependent as Montgó often has a “hat” even when the weather is good elsewhere. The walk may need to be modified if this is the case to miss the final ascent to the top.No dogs

Park in the ample car park. Please visit the bar for drinks etc, before and/or after the walkCircular walk with very fine and varied scenery. Generally straightforward but with a few short steep & rough sections (there is an easier but longer alternative). The route goes over the Contador pass, continuing to & descending Passet del Golero, over Col de Basses to reach Casa La Carrasca, passing above the Buddhist colony to cross a col on Sanxet, then traversing beneath the cliffs of “Rooms of God” & back to the Bar/Restaurant, for some well earned refreshment!Dogs on Lead at all times
