Purpose: This crosswalk tool is intended to support state-level discussions about and the coordination of state- and federally required needs assessments. It is meant to be an internal document.

How to Use: In Column A, identify all the required needs assessments that implicate local districts, postsecondary institutions and/or other educational providers. Some of the federally required needs assessments have been pre-populated, but this list is not exhaustive — you may have others in your state. In Column B, identify the specific person in your state who serves as the lead for each needs assessment process and include that person’s actual name and contact information. The state lead for each needs assessment should then complete Columns C-L with any relevant information. We have filled in some of the Perkins pieces as an example, but you should review and edit those responses to match your state-specific decisions. Once the crosswalk has been completed, it can be used to spark state-level conversations about where coordination is possible (e.g., where locals can use the same data or engage stakeholders once for multiple purposes) and how the state can better support the multiple local efforts to complete needs assessments (e.g., sharing data, clarifying timelines, etc.).

This Google spreadsheet is "view only" so you will need to make a copy (File - Make a Copy) to have an editable version.
