In nature the purpose of survival is to live long enough to pass on your genes to the next generation. Prey species need to be able to avoid being eaten and predator species need to catch those animals in order to survive. One of the most common forms of both defense and attack is the same trait, camouflage.Bees and the Production of Honey

Leonardo da Vinci was a scientist and inventor who was born in 1452 in Italy. He is widely recognised as a prolific inventor today, however many of his inventions were never built during his lifetime. Present in most cells in all living things, DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is a molecule that carries all the information needed to create an organism. This information is a genetic inheritance—DNA is passed from parents to children in cell structures called chromosomes. RNA (ribonucleic acid) is DNA’s helper. It carries instructions from DNA for the creation of proteins. Join this tour to learn more about the way in which DNA and RNA interact to build bodies.

Coral reefs are unique ecosystems that only exist within a narrow band of parameters. Coral reefs need clear, warm, shallow water which is unpolluted. The first three requirements restrict their growth to specific areas around the planet, the last requirement threatens the coral reefs that currently do exist. Within coral reefs live an astounding array of unique creatures, many of which entirely depend on the coral reef for their survival.

World War II established the United States and the Soviet Union as the world's dominant countries, and these two "superpowers," along with their respective allies, were soon engaged in what came to be known as the Cold War. Not a war on the ground, the Cold War was fought through politics, economics, and propaganda. Beginning in the 1950s, the rivalry between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. was played out in space as the 2 countries competed to prove their technological superiority in the arena of satellite communications and space travel.

The most famous of these is Homer’s Iliad and the Odyssey. The entire myth is still unknown to historians, it is believed to be mainly passed down orally and only fragments of summaries survive. Historians also debate whether the city of Troy was entirely a work of fiction or whether the myth was borne out of real events.

In World War I, trench warfare developed as one of the main types of warfare on the Western Front. Opposing armies dug trenches to hold their positions and shelter from enemy artillery fire. They also attacked from the trenches. By the end of the war, trenches spread from Belgium and France to Switzerland.
