Keeping track of every college you look at can be tough. It's great to look through websites, but they tend to blend together after a while. Keep this browser tab open while you're looking and take notes as you go. That should make it a little easier to keep track of everything. The boxes below give you an idea of what to take notes on. Delete what's in the text box and you'll be off and running. Rename the tabs at the bottom to make it easy to identify each college. Click "file" and then "make a copy" to add this to your Drive.

Include anything “Numbers” based and quantifiable in this space – size, location, SAT/GPA criteria.Don’t automatically rule out a school due to price. You might not know your actual financial aid package until the spring of your senior year, but you can use the “net price calculator” to get an early snapshot. You can usually find it on the school’s financial aid page, but if not, the search box in the top right corner of the home page should find it for you. Schools will often tout the average amount of aid students receive or the average indebtedness of grads, but remember that very few students are actually “average” - your situation and circumstances are different than everyone else’s.

List any pertinent features of the major you’re interested. if you’re undecided, do they have any programs to help students find out what they’d like to study? Look at the school’s course catalog if it’s posted. Information can generally be found under the “Academics” tab. Don’t forget that the average college student changes majors three times. It’s important to look at academic programs, but there’s a solid chance you’ll change your mind somewhere along the way…and that’s totally ok!List anything that’s not really quantifiable in this space. This is the spot for good (or bad) word of mouth about the school or just the general feeling you get from the website or virtual tour. Big time sports, special programs, study abroad, etc.

Visit - You won't be visiting every school you take notes on, but try to jot down your thoughts right after you finish up a visit. It's easy to forget the details once you seen a few schools.
