NOTES:
48
#1Russia total daily capacity reported as 6.8 million barrels in 2022 versus 6.5 million barrels identified here. Difference of 0.3M barrels due to smaller refineries where detailed information on capacity is not availableADDITIONAL SOURCES FOR REFINERY ATTACK INFORMATION:
49
#2Distance between two coordinates calculated using the Haversine FormulaMap of Rusian refineries locations and which have been attacked
50
#3Reference point of Kramatorsk, Ukraine was chosen so as to be safely behind front lines, however distances to refineries in western Russia will be overstated since there may be closer locations to launch from versus the chosen reference point
51
#5The estimated damage is an interpretation of what was available from attack footage, news reporting of damage/repairs, and occasionaly even Russian admissions of damage. The percentage capacity lost essentially adheres to the following guidelines:
- All damage from prior to July 2025 was reset to 0% lost capacity given the time gap between major attacks. (i.e., assumes repairs wer completed)
- Distillation columns / vaccum units hit estimated at 60-100% lost capacity (Note: some sites may have 2 separate operating units, so damage estimates are reduced accordingly)
- Major fires reported as 25-50% lost capacity
- Minor fires reported at 0-25% lost capacity
52
#6
Indicates refineries in range (given Ukraines demonstrated 1500 km range)
Note: demonstrated range increased from 1000km to 1500km after May 9, 2024 attack to Salavat refinery
53
#7
