Maha Bali is associate professor of practice at the Center for Learning and Teaching. She has been working in the field of faculty development since 2003. She has taught ed tech for teachers and educational game design to undergraduates. A MOOCaholic, writeaholic and open, connected educator, she is a columnist and editor at Hybrid Pedagogy, and editorial board member of the Journal of Pedagogic Development.

Nikolina Ivanova-Bell is the Serials & Interlibrary loan librarian at Panitza Library. She has joined the AUBG’s team in 2005, after working at a public library in Worcester, UK. Her current job involves managing the print & electronic serials collections and the interlibrary loans transactions. She also serves as the Library events coordinator and is deeply involved in several institutional committees and projects. In 2011 she participated in the Mortenson Center Associates Program, a non-degree professional development program for librarians from outside the United States.

Nikolina has a MLS from Sofia University, Bulgaria and a MA in Literature from South-West University, Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. Her professional interests include library cooperation, blended learning, effective use of new technology.

She is responsible for negotiating LAU Libraries agreements with database providers and publishers. Houeida is very active in marketing LAU Libraries resources and services, with focus on social media. She is the Chair of the Lebanese Academic Library Consortium, and member in ProQuest Library Advisory Board.

Houeida attended the EDUCAUSE Leading Change Institute program (2013). She holds a Masters in Management of Library and Information Services from the University of Wales, and a Masters in History from Paris IV (La Sorbonne). Houeida worked in corporate and academic environments, and has several papers presented in different conferences. She volunteered as Proposal Reviewer for EDUCAUSE 2014 and 2015 conferences.

Rayane Fayed is an instructional designer with over 10 years of experience in Higher Education. In 2005, she completed her BS in Computer Science, along with a Teaching Diploma in Educational Technologies from the American University of Beirut. In 2011, she received her Master’s degree in Distance Education, with emphasis on elearning from the University of Maryland University College.

Her areas of expertise include elearning, course design, curriculum development, staff development, training of trainers and consultation.

Rayane is involved in researching teaching methodologies and effective practices for exemplary course design. She has worked and consulted for diverse projects, including the design of a joint online diploma. She has developed, facilitated and evaluated staff development programs, designed Web-Enhanced, Blended, and Online courses, and presented at different international conferences.
She sees Instructional Design as an ultimate means to seek excellence in learning.

Diane Geraci is the Director of the CEU Library. She has expertise in collection development of digital and print information resources, traditional library operations and technologies, as well as in institutional repositories and archives, large-scale social science data archives, open access, and the changing scholarly communication environment.

Prior to CEU, Diane was co-interim director and associate director for information resources at the MIT Libraries; librarian for the social sciences at Harvard University; and held joint appointments as director of science libraries at the University of Michigan and faculty associate at the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR). She also held a visiting academic appointment at the UK Data Archive at the University of Essex, where she directed information systems and digital preservation for this national resource center for economic and social quantitative and qualitative data. She began her career at the Binghamton University Libraries, State University of New York, where she was social sciences bibliographer with management responsibility in collection development, reference services, and data services. For 15 years, she co-taught a practical summer course at the ICPSR in providing social science data services.

Diane has served on the boards of U.S. and international organizations and initiatives dedicated to the advancement of library services, research data services, and repository and standards development. Most recently Diane served on the arXiv advisory board to develop a sustainability model for this open access, e-print repository for computer science, mathematics, and physics; and was a member of the ORCID board to develop an international, open source, researcher ID system for author identification and disambiguation. She was also a representative on the North American Coalition of Open Access Policy Institutions (COAPI). Earlier, she held numerous positions in the International Association for Social Science Information Services and Technology (IASSIST).

Irshat Madyarov holds a Ph.D. degree in Second Language Acquisition and Instructional Technology from the University of South Florida, Tampa, USA. He has taught face-to-face and distance courses in the area of applied linguistics as well as English as a foreign and second languages. His professional interests include instructional technologies and language instruction, teaching English to young learners, and curriculum development and assessment. Currently, he is Chair of the Master’s Program in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and Co-director of the Center for Research in Applied Linguistics at the American University of Armenia, Armenia.

Giselle Pempedjian is an instructor of English and the supervisor/coordinator of the English Language Laboratory in the Department of English at LAU Beirut.

Her research interests include implementing web tools in learning and incorporating technology in learning. Her emphasis is on effectively blending online learning with face-to-face classes and implementing online learning in order to meet students’ individual needs. She has been in this field for more than 20 years.

Pempedjian has taken part in Project Zero Classroom, the Harvard program on how to create classrooms, learning materials and environments that promote learning and understanding. In addition, she has participated in a workshop in Amsterdam University on how to effectively use the Internet in language teaching.

Pempedjian is an e-Learning specialist and consultant. A certified Blackboard trainer, Pempedjian also designs and offers training sessions for faculty and students at LAU. An active member in the online learning community, she participates as a reviewer in the blackboard Exemplary Course Program.

She has shared her expertise in many renowned international conferences, and has been sitting on the program committee for many prominent international educational events. She also volunteered in many global online academic projects.
