The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship ProgramThe purpose of this program is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the US. High school students in grades 9 - 12 are eligible. The procedure is for contestants to compete in a local Legion Post Constitutional Speech contest, progress to a District contest, and that winner of each District advances to the State Finals. State contests highest award is $1,500. Students who compete in the National Contest will receive at least a $1,500 scholarship with the final competition awarding $18,000. Billy Cheverie Memorial ScholarshipThis memorial scholarship is handled by the N.H. Charitable Foundations and is for seniors attending Portsmouth, York, Winnacunnet or Traip; as well as students who live in these communitites and attend St. Thomas, Exeter Academy or Berwick Academy. Kittery Educational Scholarship (aka Kittery Recycling Scholarship)
Applications are available online at www.kitteryme.gov and in Naviance starting on March 1st . There are numerous scholarships in the amounts of $1,000 & $2,000. In addition to academic achievement and demonstrated financial need, special consideration may be given to an applicant who demonstrates a direct connection to environmental studies. First time applicants will be required to write an essay where repeat applicants are required to give an update. Graduates can reapply while in college. Must be received by 4/?/2018

Kittery Fire Station Association and James F. Melhorn Memorial ScholarshipThis $500 scholarship is awarded to a Traip student participating in a two or four year program majoring in fire sciences or emergency services. Kittery Rotary Club
The Kittery Rotary Club gives up to three scholarships, usually around $1,000 each. They are looking for scholarship applicants whose educational and career goals align with the Rotary Club of Kittery's vision and who demonstrate a consistent pattern of strong academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and commitment to service to the local and global community. Documented financial need is also a consideration. This year the Rotary Club of Kittery is asking that you write a thoughtful letter to their club members detailing how you lived up to the Four-Way Test during your years at Traip Academy. Bas as specific as possible and provide specific examples as evidence. The Rotary Four-Way Test of the things we think, say, and do includes: *Is it the truth? * Is it fair to all concerned? *Will it build goodwill and better freindships? *Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Simon Youth Foundation Community ScholarshipThis $1500 scholarship is available in Kittery because we host a Simon Premium Outlet shopping center. Only the first 3000 applications received will be processed. The top candidate will be given a $10,000 scholarship. They are selected on the basis of financial need, academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations. York County Council of Realtors Scholarship $2,500 Scholarships for those attending a 4-year college/university and $1,250 scholarships for those attending a 2-year community college or trade school will be given in York County to a graduating senior.
