How to Use This Calculator
Make a copy of this sheet for your own use. Select "file" and choose "make a copy". You can then edit your own copy.
Fill out the green cells ONLY, in columb B, according to your settlement statistics. If you overwrite the gray (and especially the red) cells, you break the calculator. The resulting calculation will appear in the black box at the bottom labeled "Target Happiniess". This is the happiness number your settlement will achieve if you craft it according to this sheet.
"Sheltered beds" refers to beds that have a roof over them. These beds get a bonus to happiness. You can use a mod like the Settlement Management Software to find out exactly how many of your beds are unsheltered, or you can simply make sure they are all under a roof.
Use this sheet to understand exactly what you need to build to get your desired happiness.
Warning: This calculator does not take into consideration external modifiers to settlement happiness, such as when a settler dies, or when a settlement fails at defending itself. Events like this can make settlements unhappy.

• May 30 - Fixed calculation error with food and water. Previous versions gave you a happiness bonus for extra food and water above your population count. The game does not work that way. This error is now fixed. Also fixed a small calculation error with defense. It now correctly calculates defense happiness bonus for each settler, even if you do not have 1 defense for each settler.
• June 15 - Fixed calculation error where if you had more beds than settlers, you got an extra happiness bonus. Added calculations for robots, which decrease happiness, but never below 50. Added more settlement calculations, including daily caps, fertilizer, extra food, and scrap generated.
• June 15 - Corrected calculation error on vendor caps production.
• July 29 - Added new happiness bonus objects from the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC
