|What Can I Do With This Resource?|
|Career Services and the Environmental Studies Faculty have teamed up to provide this resource to aid in your search for internship opportunities and more. This Sheet is a searchable list of websites where opportunities are posted. The Opportunities include: Internships/REUs, Jobs, Volunteer, and Job Shadow/Information Interview. |
The "Column Header Legend" tab of this workbook provides additional information about what each column contains.
The sites in this resource are searchable by Keyword and filterable by a number of data columns. In some cases, Eckerd students have previously completed an opportunity with an organization and those are flagged as "Previously Approved Internship Site" and have additional data like Contact Info and Notes available.
|How Do I Use This Resource?||Google Sheets Help|
|This resource is a standard Google Sheet (Google equivalent of Excel), and if you don't know anything about Google Sheets visit the Help link above or ask a classmate. |
Students have "view" rights to the sheet only. You will be able to sort, search, filter and create "filter views", but the changes and views you make will not be saved when you leave the sheet after once session.
Search by Keyword: Keyword search can be used to isolate rows that have a specific state for example - keyword "Florida"
Select the text of the whole sheet by clicking in the upper left corner cell that joins row #1 and column A. Simaultaneously click on "Ctrl" key and letter "F" key to pull up the search box that appears at upper right of sheet and enter your "keyword".
Filter by Values in One or More Columns: This search is the method of choice to search data to isolate rows that have a specific valid value for a specific column (or multiple), for example, "Non-profit/NGO" for Organization Type. Other "values-based" columns you can filter include: Opportunity Type (Internships/REUs, Jobs, Volunteer, Job Shadow/Information Interview), and Geographic Location/Region.
