TitleLocal government geospatial data survey

DescriptionLocal government in the UK is responsible for collecting and managing large amounts of geospatial data to support delivery of local and national services. Between August and September 2018, the ODI conducted a survey to learn more about how local government in the UK is engaging in the publication and use of geospatial data and open source GIS tools and applications. The goal was to identify some challenges and opportunities to improve how geospatial data is published and used at a local level to improve services and drive innovation. The survey was shared via twitter and online forums.

NotesRespondents were asked to indicate the local council or organisation they were responding on behalf of, this and other information that might identify the respondents have been removed. However we can confirm that there was only a single response from each organisation. So the results include information from 38 individual organisations
