Schema Markup Helper: Instructions

You do not need to create or format any Google Sheets yourself. The script is designed to do all of that for you.

Here’s how to get started and use the tool step-by-step:

Step 1: Initialize the Tool

- Find the menu item at the top called "Schema Generator".
- Click on Schema Generator -> Initialize Spreadsheet.
- A small pop-up will ask for authorization the first time you run it. Please grant the necessary permissions.
- The script will then automatically create all the necessary sheets (tabs) for you, like "Organization," "Person," "Product," etc., and format them with the correct properties and colors.

Step 2: Fill in Your Information

- Click on the tab for the schema you want to create (for example, click on the "LocalBusiness" sheet).
- You will see columns for "Property," "Value," "Required," and "Description."
- Simply fill in your business's information in the "Value" column (Column B) next to each property.
- Important: If you don't have information for a specific property or want to skip it, just leave its "Value" cell blank. The script will automatically ignore it when generating the code.

Step 3: Generate the Schema Code

- Once you have filled in the details, go back to the Schema Generator menu.
- Click on the corresponding "Generate" option (e.g., Generate Local Business Schema).
- You will see a confirmation message that the schema was generated.

Step 4: Get Your Code

- Go to the "Generated Schema" sheet.
- You will find your formatted JSON-LD schema code there

BONUS: Make sure to run it through the Business Schema Validator GPT for proper structuring before pasting it in your html!

That's it! You can repeat this process for any schema type you need.
