|Beverly Hills Easy 5||5 Miles||Very Little||Beverly Hills|
Scenic, easy run along Santa Monica
Plenty of sights to see. On your return, a fun short detour (maybe .25 mile), when you get to the big fountain at Wilshire and turn back onto Santa Monica, take a left at the first street on the left – Walden Drive and run up 1 block to Carmelita. On your right is Spadena House (aka The Witch’s House ). This eerie house was built for Willat Studios in Culver City back in 1920 as a set for a few silent films, including Hansel and Gretel, and a studio office/dressing room. It was purchased and transplanted to BH when the studio closed. Head back down to Santa Monica path and follow it back to Doheny.

|Bluffs 3 or 6 miler||3 or 6 (or 9 or 12)||248||Pacific Palisades|
A rolling course along the bluffs in the Palisades. It's easy to follow if you just stay right on the way out then make a right turn at Swarthmore, and then reverse once you get to the start and run back along the course.
Great way to see your friends: just stay right on the way out (right on Swarthmore) and left on the way back (left on De Pauw)
Free on Temescal near Sunset
Water near Swarthmore and Sunset, bathrooms at Starbucks or nearby in the Palisades Park...though they are closed right now.
|Bluffs Run -- 11 Mile Version||11||420||Santa Monica|
Super scenic run with plenty of hills
Limited. Stop at the Palisades Rec Center
|CalState LA Circle Dr loop||1.5-2.0||Rolling||Los Angeles (El Sereno/University Hills)||2|
Start at Paseo Rancho Castilla and Eastern (or anywhere on the loop), then circle the Cal State LA campus. Turn right at Circle Dr by the Luckman Fine Arts Complex and continue slightly downhill to Campus Rd where you'll have to climb a hill back to Paseo Rancho Castilla. Mileage can be extended by doing zigzags in the parking lots or doing an out-and-back past Circle Dr. on Paseo Rancho Castilla. If you run this on the weekend, there will be very little traffic so you can run in the street and easily cross the street to avoid the few other walkers/runners.
I wouldn't recommend running here during the day on the weekdays since there are frequent construction and maintenance trucks and also COVID testing. Sundays are great for doing continuous loops (or you can do reverse loops). However, not much shade.
The Luckman parking lot is open but I don't know if you need a permit. Otherwise, you can park near the Metro Meat Market on Eastern or on any of the residential streets surrounding the campus. There is also a Metrolink Station on campus.
There are water fountains near the track. Unsure if the bathrooms are open at this time since the campus is technically closed.

|LA along the LA River|

A nice run in the Park. Lots of flat terrain if you want, good shaded areas, not much traffic, plenty of open free parking. Start with free parking at the Gene Autry Museum across from the LA Zoo. Head north along the side of the road, or take the sandy horse trail. Lots of shade and very little traffic. Head up the steep 1 mi. climb for 419 ft. if you want the challenge, or just loop back.
I prefer to run on the asphalt along the bike trail, but you can take the packed soil of the parallel horse trail.
There are many open routes to choose from to build as much mileage as you need.
Open free parking all through the park.
Bathrooms are limited, a few portapotties along the route.
