Towing - Maximum Rates/Charges
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2022: In addition to the rates/charges listed below, towing carriers are allowed to assess a surcharge for credit card transactions, pursuant to § 5-2-212, C.R.S. (see Senate Bill 21-091).

EFFECTIVE AUGUST 10, 2022: Vehicles towed from (residential) private property are subject to release at a reduced fee, pursuant to § 40-10.1-405(5)(c), C.R.S. (see HB22-1314).

Law Enforcement Ordered Tow
and Recovery Operations
Base Rate (aka "Hook Fee")		Towing rates for law enforcement ordered tows and recovery operations, calculated on an hourly basis (billable in 1/4 hour increments after the first hour), per required tow truck/driver.

NOTE: A towing carrier may also bill for the actual and reasonable cost of recovery equipment and labor, in excess of one tow truck/driver for one hour, plus an additional 25% of those actual and reasonable costs.		6511(c)GVWR (10,000 lbs or less)

Statutory NotificationBetween 2-10 days* after a vehicle has been towed, a towing carrier is required to notify any owner(s) and lienholder(s) related to the vehicle. This fee may be assessed if the title search has been performed and the required mailings have been sent.
