You reached out to a wealthy friend named Fauna, offering the opportunity due to her personal ties to Cecilia from Justice. 35 | ㅤKEY THINGS TO REMEMBER ㅤ- Your number one, most important trait, is that you are trustworthy. You do not share secrets. You do not gossip. You do not take sides in the war between Advent and Justice. This is what allows you to collect even more information on your path to becoming the most powerful person in the city, if you aren't already. This means that it is extremely important for you to not reveal the information you know freely during Gigi's party, no matter the circumstances. You may use it to poke indirectly at certain people, or lead people in certain directions by happening to believe one person's exclamation over another, but to outwardly tell people private information would undermine the very foundation of your character, and ruin your future in the city. And if you do use someone's secrets against them in any way obvious to them, then there's no assuring that they won't retaliate vengefully. For all the information you have on people, you've learned that some are unpredictable. Stay safe, and stay trusted. ㅤㅤ- When putting this in the context of your win condition, it means not revealing that Irys is an undercover cop, not letting people find out that you told Bijou about Ina's life, not openly stating that Gigi was having a love affair with someone, etc. Everyone knows information and they're all waiting to spill it all out, you just have to piece everything together as it comes to light, and try to judge the citizens of your city that you know so much about to figure out who would commit a crime like this. ㅤ- Extra context about your relationship with Bijou: After she crossed you, you warned her that if she revealed that you had helped her find out about Ina, then you would do everything in your power to ruin her life. When she said that she could just have you killed, you warned her that your network is vast, and bombs exist in place to be revealed if anything were to ever happen to you. You explained that you had ceded to her threats this one time as an act of good courtesy, but if she tried this again you would not be so kind. She understood your warning. ㅤROLEPLAY REMINDERS ㅤ- The game will take place in one discord call channel, so even if (within roleplay) you're with a trusted character in a room alone, don't state things out loud that you don't want every other player to know (like giving away yours or others' role). ㅤ- Be careful with the information you have on people - if you know something that isn't public knowledge then it may turn suspicion on you to voice it out loud. ㅤ- This is a social deduction roleplay game with a focus on speech. There are a few abilities and items in the game, but overall you should be focused on talking to people to figure things out. A lot will be determined through gathering information with others through roleplay. There will not be any form of dice rolling to determine outcomes. If you want to do something with another player, roleplay it out with them. If you want to interact with the environment, you can go to any extent that you want as long as you say how you do it. Gigi as the DM will mediate anything between players to make sure the game is fun and fair, and will roleplay with you how your exploration and interactions go with the environments. They frequently scrap and hold themselves above the law, acting to their own wills to try and achieve their ultimate goal: full domination over the city. Nothing is too low for either group: assassination, infiltration; in a world where no one can trust anybody, Gigi Murin aims to bridge the gap between them. She is an outspoken advocate for peace, always loud about ending the fighting. ㅤThrough a string of bizarre events, Advent and Justice, as well as many of their friends, have come together at a mansion to celebrate Gigi's birthday. Always a woman of theatrics, Gigi announces her intent to drop herself in whilst bound and escape, but something goes wrong. 40 | GAMEPLAY AND RULES | |||||||||||||||
41 | ㅤThe game will be played in ROUNDS. ㅤA ‘Round’ is defined by the cycle of focusing on every room, until all of them have been played out. ㅤROOM BASICS ㅤ- At the start of a round, each player will be made to choose a room in the house to go to, where they will be able to freely take actions (listed below). We will then cycle through each room. ㅤㅤ- For the first round 10 minutes will be spent on each room. ㅤㅤ- In the second round it will be reduced to 5 minutes per room. ㅤ- There will only be two rounds in this way, and large gatherings in the lobby will take place before and after each round. ㅤ- The room order will be the same for both: Kitchen -> Bedroom -> Study -> Library -> Bathroom. ㅤ- There is a player limit for how many people can be each room. All rooms have a 3 person capacity. ㅤㅤ- There is an additional space in every room for a visitor ㅤㅤㅤ- So if 3 people are in a room, then 1 extra person can move to join them ㅤㅤㅤ- If 2 people are in a room, then 2 extra people can move to join them ㅤEach round, ALIVE PLAYERS will be able to choose to act on a number of possible choices: ㅤㅤ- Talk: investigate your fellow players and deduce who the killer is through social means ㅤㅤ- Investigate: inspect the room you’re in and interact with anything out of place ㅤㅤㅤㅤ- Roleplay is encouraged, even if things look normal, ask the DM if you notice anything more ㅤㅤ- Ability Action: if you have a role with an ability, you can use this within its noted parameters ㅤㅤㅤㅤ- Some abilities can only be taken during a round, and some at the end of a round (or both). ㅤㅤㅤㅤ- Specific rules will be stated on your sheet higher up if you have an ability. ㅤㅤ- Move: you can move once per round to a different room. The stream focus doesn’t have to be on your current room for you to take this action. Rooms have capacity limits for players, however, so moving might not be possible if this limit is reached ㅤㅤㅤㅤ- To move, message in your #game-actions channel that you wish to move to a room. You will receive a reply either being accepted or denied (if someone else moved before you, or for other reasons), then moved by Gigi. ㅤㅤ- Item: you may use any item you possess. All items are able to be given to other players you share a room with, at any time in the game. Here are the list of items: ㅤㅤㅤㅤ- Walkie Talkies: you may give them to any two players (including yourself). The owners of the walkie talkies can talk to each other whenever they like, irrelevant of whether they're in the same room. ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ- In order to keep communication efficient and non-cluttered, announce when you're using your walkie talkie, and when you're finished speaking say 'Over'. The other person may then reply. They must also say 'Over' when they're done. ㅤㅤㅤㅤ- Flashlight: you may use the flashlight to search for hidden messages in rooms. It has unlimited uses. ㅤㅤㅤㅤ- Others: you have complete freedom to interact with the house through roleplay. This is a roleplay heavy game and you're encouraged to creatively interact with the environment. If you want to rip a piece of wood off of a staircase to create a mock weapon, feel free! Not only can you touch and pick up any item that you visibly see in the background, you can always ask Gigi if there's anything more that you don't see, or if you have a specific item in mind that you want, you can ask if you can find it or where it might be. Gigi, as the DM, will tell you of any limits that your item has, and will roleplay any interactions with your item that you ask to perform. ㅤDEAD PLAYERS will have these choices: ㅤㅤ- Talk: if the psychic shares the same room as you, you can communicate with them. You're not obligated to reply, or tell the truth. You must talk in rhymes if you do. ㅤㅤ- Soundboard: within reason, you can play sounds from the event discord soundboard ㅤKILLING PLAYERS ㅤㅤ- At the end of each round, after all 5 rooms have been played out, players will return to the lobby for an intermediary between rounds. ㅤㅤㅤㅤ- During this time, players will be able to react to any developments together with all players. ㅤㅤ- During this part, players can vote up a player that they think is the most suspicious. ㅤㅤㅤㅤ- If it's not instigated by players after a certain amount of time, Gigi will force the issue. This is a required part of the gameplay. ㅤㅤ- This player will be allowed to defend themself with no one else speaking for 2 minutes. ㅤㅤ- At the end of the 2 minutes, all players must vote on whether the player should be killed or not. ㅤㅤㅤㅤ- You will be given 1 minute to message in your #game-actions channel either KILL or SPARE as your decision. No response will be seen as a 'don't kill' decision. ㅤㅤ- The act of voting will be anonymous, so no one knows how others are voting when they vote. ㅤㅤ- However, anyone who voted to kill will have their vote displayed on screen afterwards. ㅤㅤ- It's completely fine to vote not to kill, a murder doesn't have to happen, but be aware that you only have until the timers expire to put people up. As soon as the timer expires we move to the next phase of the game. ㅤㅤ- There will be 3 rounds of voting to kill in this way: 1 at the end of Round 1, and 2 at the end of Round 2. ㅤTHEORETICAL ROUND FOR A PLAYER ㅤㅤ- PLAYER chooses to go to the Library ㅤㅤ- The game cycles through the Kitchen, and then the Library ㅤㅤ- PLAYER talks to the other person who came to the room with them ㅤㅤ- PLAYER investigates the room, interacting with any items that look out of place and asking the DM if they notice anything ㅤㅤ- The DM reveals a clue to the PLAYER ㅤㅤ- PLAYER discusses the clue with the other person ㅤㅤ- 10 minutes end, and the game cycles to the Bedroom, then the Attic ㅤㅤ- Whilst in the Attic, a player seems untrustworthy. PLAYER requests to travel to the room ㅤㅤ- PLAYER arrives in the Attic when the DM says so. They message in their #game-actions channel in the discord to use their role’s ability to check the suspicious player, and receive information in private from the DM ㅤㅤ- PLAYER chooses to return to their room afterwards ㅤㅤ- The game cycles to the final room, then the round ends | |||||||||||||||
