4 | Core Task: Updating Chronology and Exporting | |
5 | 1: Setting up | Click on the 'Chronology' Tab. Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift+1 (or go to Tools -> Macros -> Insert Chronology) to insert a row. |
6 | 2: Year | The year should only be wrong once a year - when it's the first live tournament of the new year. The year cell is automatically copied from the above row. |
7 | 3: Category | The category is either the name of a generation if an OverUsed or miscellaneous tier, or the name of a format section such as Doubles or UU. A list of the categories you can enter can be found clearly on the 'Exporter' sheet for you to decide what fits best. |
8 | 4: Host | The host is almost always the owner of the OP (first post) of the live tournament thread. |
9 | 5: Winner | The winner should be in the thread title following the conclusion of the tournament. |
10 | 6: Size | Size is either in the form 2^n or 3*2^n, e.g. 16 or 24. Round up if there's byes. |
11 | 7: URL | In the penultimate column, paste the URL of the thread. This is so the thread can be linked for exporting to the thread. |
12 | 8. Correct Cases | In the Case Check sheet, unique columns of Hosts and Winners are presented case sensitively. The case checker will alert you to correct the case of names in Chronology if they appear more than once with different combinations of upper and lower case. |
13 | 9: Export | Go to the Exporter sheet. There are three options: copying the full export, which gives every tournament, copying the remaining export and copying Post #1 and Post #2 and pasting them into their respective posts. Copying the remaining export allows you to just paste additional tournaments not yet recorded on the thread. |
14 | 10: Update Tables | Finally Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift+2 (or go to Tools -> Macros -> Update Standings). You are nearly done updating! |
15 | 11: Added? | Go back to the Chronology sheet, and change the final columns to ticks by filling down to all the tournaments you've just updated to in the thread. Finished! |
16 | Extra Task: Exporter Variables | |
17 | 1: Art Changes | There are 9 variables you can change associated with exporting to the archive thread in the 'Exporter' sheet. The first 4 are to do with the banner/logo and are Image URL, Image by, Credit Color and USER ID. The latter 3 just ensure the author of the artwork is tagged within a color. |
18 | 2: Other Changes | The latter 5 variables deal with the rest of the template. Spreadsheet link links to this spreadsheet and rarely needs to change; Navigation is BBCode to link to the other tournament archives; Introduction is what goes after the banner; Format is the legend for the table and the footer contains the credits. |

21 | 2: Adding a Series | In the Series cell, add a regular expression pattern with wild card(s). ^ implies the text is the start of every tournament thread. Joining by .* implies the latter text follows the former text but not necessarily consecutively. |
