The program kicks off with a 2-day event on Dec 1st and 2nd at Meredith College and then continues with monthly workshops around different careers, technologies, and companies.

Our 2018/19 cohort will start with a two-day Kickoff event in December and we will continue with monthly events around different careers, technologies, and companies throughout the school year. Our nomination period will open on September 10, 2018. Visit website to access the form.

Children's Relaxation Classes
In this series, your child will learn about: self-esteem, managing anxiety, stress and anger management, positive relationships and more through Guided Imagery (a relaxation technique that uses sensory visualizations to engage the mind and imagination for healing). Ages 5-12. Ten week series or come for one class. If you call, let her know an MSR mom told you about her class.

Celebrating Our Voices: Black Children's Literature Symposium & Book Festival
Join us for Celebrating Our Voices: Black Children's Literature Symposium & Book Festival at North Carolina Central University's H.M. Michaux Jr. School of Education Building on Saturday, October 27. This free, open-to-the-public event will feature distinguished Black children's literature scholars and 10 award-winning Black authors and illustrators from our around our state and nation.

The day will be broken into two parts. Here's the schedule:

9 a.m.-12 p.m. Symposium (keynotes and panels on the importance of Black children's literature)
1 p.m.-4 p.m. Book festival (meet and greet with authors and illustrators, readings and books available for purchase and signing)
