8A*Exceptional output is achieved through sustained and focussed practice. All work has been created to a very high standard. Artwork is personal and time has been invested. The progress made here reflects the level of perseverance shown by the student.
In and around the classroom the student is proactive and engaged. Asking relevant questions and listening supports the creative and intellectual journey.

7APurposeful attitude to work results in excellent output. Student is always on task and listens and contributes well to the lesson. They are able to plan and follow through their intentions. Feedback is absorbed and used to further independent studies. The maturity of their attitude enables them to produce refined and personal outcomes.

6BBehaviour and attitude are such that the student is able to produce consistently good work. This results from their focus and application. Work produced responds to the lesson content and visual stimuli. They are helpful and engaged in class. There is a sense of purpose in the work which is methodical and deliberate.

5CGeneral motivation is good but they could listen and focus more, this would enhance progress and enable them to rectify mistakes and fulfil their potential. More engagement with the tasks set is needed to move beyond a tentative response. Further contribution to class discussion and questioning will help to broaden their understanding.

4DSome of the lesson tasks are attempted but lack of consistency and focus leads to work being incomplete or below their potential. Tracking the teacher, listening and being ready to learn will enhance their performance in class. Motivation is lacking and class tasks are not started promptly. Responses to set tasks may be superficial and simplistic.

3EThe student is frequently off task and work is rushed, if completed at all. There is no sense of pride in the work and behaviour impacts on those around them. Presentation is messy or minimal. They do not contribute to the class discussions and struggle to have mature conversations with those around them.

2FVery little focus and concentration evident on a consistent basis. This results in work being incomplete and rushed. Behaviour in class is distracting to others and attitude is not focussed on achievement. Students may feel self conscious about their work being visible to others.

1GNo progress is being made with technical skills due to the lack of engagement in class. Behaviour prevents others from learning. They are unable to stay in their seat and frequently misuse materials. Lack of interest and motivation is evident and they may be very self conscious about their work being visible in class.
