Cast iron plates on topside and front left and right sides of pillar". It measured 0.5m high, 0.36m wide and 0.3m deep. The name 'J.Affleck, Dumfries' is the only writing other than placenames. They recorded it as being in "Good condition, no damage, no vegetation".
